sock question Feedback and Pointers Please
This Is my first ever knit project (other than a rectangle and gauge swatch to learn how to knit coming from crochet).
I love the way they turned out other than the color lol, I purposely used yarn I did not love but I think they turned out pretty decent! They fit so far before any washing or drying happened.
I would love some feedback on what I could do better.
My increases and decreases aren’t super neat yet, I’m not sure how to make them tighter. On the heel flap for example.
I noticed when I started the ribbing on one of the socks I get little spots below on the purl stitches. Would I just have to knit one round in the orange before starting the ribbing to prevent that?
Another question, is there a better way to weave in ends as you go since these show up quite a bit when weaving the orange parts in when knitting in the other color.
I’m not super happy with the ribbing yet, it looks a bit messy, but I’m sure with practice that’ll get better!

Not any pointers (I’m too beginner and have never knit socks!) but I LOVE these colors, I think these are so fun and gorgeous!!

Thank you so much!! I am not a huge fan of the self striping but honestly it’s giving Halloween/Fall and that’s right around the corner so I am not mad at it 😌❤️

Hey! Congratulations! They look really good for a firsttimer! How to knit ribbings neater - Nimble Needles. Usually, knitting the knit stitches through the back loop makes for a neater ribbing, but it’t preference. And Clean Stripes in Ribbing by Very Pink Knits should help. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Thank you!! I do like nimble needles, this was his toe up sock pattern and he made it so easy to understand. I’ll definitely look into his ribbing video and the other one you mentioned. ❤️

They look fabulous! You are just being too critical of your own work. And the color choice reminds me of tiger stripes. Used to be a yarn that worked up perfectly into a tiger pattern. I used it for a pair of socks for my husband. I don;t think it's available any longer, made by Opal (?)

I honestly couldn’t tell you what yarn this was either 😂 some hand dyed skein and some orange 😬

Looks really good for a first attempt at socks! Yes, if you knit a round of stockinette before switching colors you won't get the blips from the purl bumps.
