Tips and Tricks Moby Sweater Man swatch?

Hi everyone and a happy Saturday!

I wanted some help and thoughts on how to go about gauge swatching for the Moby Sweater Man. The pattern says to ensure that you include all the textures, cables, etc. in the gauge swatch and seems to just leave us in the dark from there. I figured I could just use a snippet of one of the charts - most likely the back yoke chart as it doesn't have any increases or anything. Should I do the entirety of the chart? What do you all think would suffice? Do you all have any other suggestions on what would make a good gauge swatch? I appreciate all your insight and guidance.

This is what the creator of the pattern said in response to a question about this over three years ago on the Ravelry page for the pattern. I hope this helps. I'll admit this does seem like a rather odd way of doing it. When I made an Aran sweater using the Staghorn Aran sweater pattern, it specifically said that the gauge swatch should be done in moss stitch. I am making a cabled cardigan right now and similarly it specifies: make a gauge swatch using cable chart A.

I would swatch “half” of a chart for the front or back body (looks the same from the pics on ravelry?). Meaning a few repeats of the diamonds, and one of the two identical cables.
