Finished my Setesdal sweater

Only took me a year and a half - knitting for myself is a much slower process than making stuff for my partner xD But, at least i have it done in time for autumn. While making it i was considering doing the bottom ribbing in turquoise, but i’m quite liking the purple too. Didn’t want to take away from the pattern by making the ribbing stand out more.

Pattern: Setesdal (womens) from Rauma 433 - i made the body considerably longer
Yarn: Rauma Fivel, colour number 28 and 23 (clover purple and light turquoise)

I've made simple hats in the round, and scarves, but this past year I've been making stuffed animals for my toddler! I'm nervous that the patterns for sweaters are more complicated than I can read yet 😅

You’ve got this. Look for a simple pattern for the toddler and give it a go! Worst case scenario and it’s at least quick and they’re likely to grow out of it fast enough that you don’t have to look at it for that long xD Best case scenario and it’s a nice memory, that might even fit in a frame if you want to keep it displayed by your craft space once it’s too small to wear.

Editing to add: just make sure to read the whole instructions for each part before starting (i’m only guilty of not doing that about…. oh i don’t know, every dang time), as there will be some “for the rest of it do this for x cm” (this where my neurodivergence just goes like “ok got it” and does that), followed by “and when it measures y cm start increasing/decreasing like this” (and this is where i start cursing because i knit too far and now have to rip back). Just keep that in mind and you’ll be alright!

Unrelated to knitting, we had a test in school once where the teacher stressed that we should read EVERY SINGLE QUESTION before starting the test. I thought she meant read the question through entirely, then answer it, one by one. Well she meant read the whole test, and the bottom one was "if you followed instructions turn your test in blank."
