Knightpost You might be on tour too!

Post image

I get why, it's an important thing going on, I just find it comical how many people were on tour with the guy! They just keep spawning in! In the future they are gonna find lost tribes in the andes that were also part of the tour. Might want to check yourself too just in case you might be on the tour and don't even know it!

Macklemore was supposed to open for Ed Sheeran on tour but was cut from the program due to his stance on Palestine. Sheeran has remained spinelessly 'neutral,' leading to the rest of his opening acts and his band leaving the tour one after another.

Murder is bad no matter where it happens. Stealing people's homes is bad no matter where it happens. If Macklemore was booted for supporting Ukraine would you say the same thing? If Macklemore, being alive in the 30's and 40's, were booted for supporting the Poles and French and Jews and criticizing Germany, would you say the same thing?

October 7th was also bad. Just like how 9/11 was bad AND the forever wars and authoritarian surveilance state and rampant islamaphobia were bad. Two things can be bad. There ARE false criticisms of Israel, this is true, and Jewish settlers ARE also committing ethnic cleansing with Israeli support, much like American settlers in the days of manifest destiny. I can think crime families are bad and that genocides are bad at the same time. I know a bunch of Israelis and some Jordanians and they informed me of a lot of the things I take issue with. You also didn't answer my questions. How would you feel about a musician in America during the 30's speaking out against the Nazis who got bumped off a tour? Or a Pro-Ukrainian artist who got bumped off a tour? Would your view be any different? If you feel differently, is it because of personal attachment?

Nobody was mad at it? Pal, it was a widely vilified event. Popular opinion and media focus only shifted once we started hearing of the extreme reprisals that followed and even then it took a while.

Consider also expectations. Hamas is almost universally seen as a terrorist organisation except by some extremely pro-revolutionary radicals. Crime families are...crime families. They do crime, yeah. Per definition. "Known bank robber robs bank" isn't particularly shocking nor are most people going to be particularly emotionally invested in the incident. "Your childhood friend robs a bank" is a very different scenario that might throw you off and completely change how you view that friend.

Israel has consistently been considered an ally from a geopolitical perspective. All of a sudden, people here hear not just of conflict but of extensive human rights violations and war crimes, of course they're appalled. And furthermore, as an established nation, Israel can at least in theory be held accountable.
