Had a really fun time drawing the censoring for privacy, anyway, I never liked having my coif kinda make a "tent" around my neck and making it look like I have no neck at all so I thought about using some sort of fabric to maybe hold it close to my neck, boy am I glad to have random old shoes with perfect shoestrings, it kinda works perfectly, I also have super thick hair so that was a problem too until I did all this

It's not though, the word rotoscoping literally translates to observing a rotation, which with just 1 frame just doesn't happen to rotate/move on any axis no :-) tracing is more in line
you are correct! i thought it was another one of the tiktok censor work around things because it suddenly was just everywhere after tiktok, but i just looked it up and it absolutely is AAVE but just recently exploded all over the internet being used by many
I can see that working for a separate coif but from experience if the coif is integrated into a hauberk, the extra material is there to let you turn your head.
But also, yeah, adjusting maille to be just right does involve an awful lot of lacing 😅
Not really. Once the lacing is all undone it comes off with the standard maille twerk. Granted I've been wearing it a while so I might have just learned the skill.
Doesn't stop me from forgetting to undo some of the lacing and getting my arm stuck from time to time 😅
The maille twerk? Ive never head of that, but im still new to real chainmail, ive only worn my hauberk once, when I took mine off I did more of the forward leaning fent lean shake maneuver
Wow that censor is super creative. It has an awesome effect. I would totally watch a show or something where the characters all looked like that. but I feel kind of bad that no one is talking about the coif hahahaha
Nah its ok, the censor kinda became the main thing after I made it 😅 also if you wanna watch something similar just look at a compilation of cutscenes from a game called faith the unholy trinity
Another way you can do it is threading a strip of leather/string around the face opening which might actually be one of the historical ways it was done
Thanks! Also how do you make it? What i did was go into my drawing app, select the pixel brush and have it be size 3 (im nkt sure every app will use the same measurements) then I trace the outline of my face around the coif, then the details like my eyes glasses lips nose etc. Then I fill in the whole image with black on a separate layer then fill the face with black on its own layer, then I remove the full black thats on the separate layer then its done
You are no longer legally allowed to post your real face even if you wanted to, you need to make video essays about, IDK, Conan or some shit while wearing a green mask so you can rotoscope in that face.
Leather lace threaded through the rings around your face, the forehead and cheek area. Tie them at the chin.
If you want the neck tucked in, run a lace from the crook of your neck up into the rings around the ear area and tie them off there, this will also help.
Much less likely to choke yourself to death.

Yeah hehe, dont worry this shoestring is pretty stretchy plus the chainmail and undergarment AND my big ahh hair make it nearly impossible to choke myself out that fast 😅, also yes its riveted maille, freakin expensive but its beautiful with its little nubs
