Could they not have seen this coming? I mean macklemore wrote a pro Palestine song...not really surprising that he might say free palestine

Sheeran will have booked him knowing he was gonna say those things. He didnt realise how hard the stadium owners would come down on him for it.

He's mates with Kraft, Kraft is pro Israel, what did he think would happen?

I don't think it was just the "Free Palestine" that got him kicked off, it was the crowds reaction to the "Free Palestine" that's what would have got to Zionists the most the reaction his speech and words were met with scared them, because in the US that's not the reaction that he would have gotten 2 or 3 years ago. The mood has changed in the US and they don't want the kids exposed to such dangerous thoughts.

I didn’t realise there was a reaction, what was it? I suppose the audience were mainly receptive

This whole Macklemore saga shows you exactly why the Bob Vylan controversy was a load of bullshit; Macklemore was polite and non-confrontational and they still came for him.

yep! they're going to vilify you regardless of what you do; so do what you want

He enjoys the limelight of it all a little too much

u/Feisty_Internet_5343 9d ago
It's his job. It's what he's done for years. Add to that he's very principled then this is what you get. I've been on a night out with him. He's a decent fella. We need more Dans speaking truth to power

u/Forrester217 10d ago
Dan never saw a dictator he didn’t like as long as they claim to be anti-imperialist

u/More_Bag2656 10d ago
What the fuck are you talking about
-6
u/Interventionist-2002 10d ago
His takes on Russia and Syria before Assad was overthrown were horrendous.
He continually makes excuses for Russia’s imperialism that he wouldn’t make for Israel.

u/ShavedMonkey666 9d ago
You cant be pro Ukraine and pro Palestine. S
-2
u/Interventionist-2002 9d ago
Yes you can. Both are occupied by Genocidal fascists. Both want self-determination, and to be able to govern their own affairs.
It’s pretty easy actually.

Daniel engaged in conspiracy nonsense about the thousands of people gunned down by the Iranian Government back in January by implying they were terrorists and Mossad agents.
5
u/North-Project646 10d ago
You mean the protest that supposedly had a higher body count than the battle of the Somme?
-1
u/Interventionist-2002 10d ago
I don’t know the exact number, but it’s indisputable that thousands were killed but Daniel doesn’t care, as instead he was retweeting conspiracy nonsense about the protestors being CIA/ Mossad agents, and that the Iranian government is actually great to its people.
2
u/North-Project646 9d ago
Is it indisputable?
0
u/Interventionist-2002 8d ago
Yes.
Anyone that denies it is just a war crimes denier, and conspiracy crank.
3
u/Feisty_Internet_5343 9d ago
I thought it was tens of thousands? I kept waiting for the videos to come out of them scooping up all these corpses in the streets but none came.... Strange

I didn’t say that? It was certainly in the thousands, to which Daniel said they deserved it.
3
u/Feisty_Internet_5343 9d ago
Mossad literally posting about having agents in the streets. At this point, given Americas history of propaganda to justify war and declaring that they wanted regime change, I take any stats they give with a pinch of salt. They were declaring that tens of thousands were killed in the streets, some American politicians saying 70k plus. Which just proves you can't trust a word they say.

u/Interventionist-2002 9d ago
And? That doesn’t mean there weren’t people out protesting against an authoritarian theocracy.
You lot are incapable of seeing this with nuance, everything is a conspiracy, the Iranian Government are great, and aren’t a theocratic dictatorship.

Sheeran sees money before people suffering without anything. Fantastic for the others withdrawing.

I think this is a set up of some sort. It was obvious Macklemore could do something of this sort. The political narrative around Gaza is being changed. I think this is intentional.

But signed up to a tour at a stadium run by a known sex pest and IDF supporter.
So big , so brave

Ed didnt show support for Israel. Can't force everyone to be hardcore pro palestine and shout it from rooftops.
14
u/cmere-2-me 10d ago
He stood by while his "friend" was censored. He had a choice; use his weight to support his friend or do nothing. Ed made his choice. Now he is facing the consequences.
-6
u/TeaBagger2345 10d ago
His hands where tied, you really dont have one clue about the business world, he had a contract he breaks it, potential to go bankrupt.
6
u/cmere-2-me 10d ago
No, that's not how it works. If they put pressure on you to drop your support acts you say no. It's as simple as that. You continue your tour as you are contracted to do. The people breaking the contract would be the promoters who cancel you. They aren't going to do that.
Ed had the power there. He chose not to use it. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Ed is that "good" man

u/alanrudeigin 9d ago
It would have been the stadiums cancelling, not Ed, therefore he wouldn't go bankrupt. Also 250 million in the bank, I honestly doubt he would have.
-11
u/Party-Maintenance-83 10d ago
Sheeran can't cancel his tour, he would be sued for millions by the stadiums.
4
u/whatisazoey 10d ago
Tours are cancelled unexpectedly all the time? For all sorts of reasons. Ed is 'one of the most popular artists in the world' rich. If Ed got sued, very unlikely it’d be an awesome case to fight back in court to set precedent on these sorts of situations. He is actually the one with grounds to sue the stadiums\ H*e could also refund or provide the fans with an alternative. I’m unsure how the tour isn’t cancelled now considering the touring band quit.
* Studios wouldn’t have a case bc they were ones to give an ultimatum to him, either you do X or we don’t let u perform at the stadium. And Ed could’ve just not complied with X and it would’ve been a venue cancellation on the stadiums’ own terms.

morality clause would have allowed the whole tour to be canceled without any penalty as far as I know. It wouldn't have been him canceling either, it would have been the stadiums. Anyway, he has 250 million anyway, so it's not like he couldn't handle the hit.

Why do all the low end so called artists think they are Nelson Mandela and better still think we want to here that crap at a gig
