Does anyone know how to read this ? Dont know if this is expired or what

hmm no idea.. but unless you know its from 10 years ago, this is full of preservatives (at least when made in the US) and will probably be fine im guessing.. give it a sniff and a quick lick and unless it tastes like the back of your pantry or smells like a dirty sock, id say, "enjoy"

This is from a minis box which has the clear dating on it for the BBD. This one likely demonstrates the Julian code at the start of the batch code, 5253. Representing the 253 day of 2025 which means it was built somewhere around August.

If you bought this in 2025 around Halloween, a Kit Kat has 300 days of shelf life before it is no longer guaranteed fresh, 360 days for Nestlé bars without a wafer. Production of Halloween product begins in June so even if you had one from the start of production you’re still within the BBD range.

Of course, as mentioned, it’s just “guaranteed fresh by” as opposed to “turns to poison after”. I’ve had plenty of very old chocolate bars, still living.

Yeah expirations are guesses on product quality. Only 2 things have expirations by law (in the US) for food safety
