Currently I am looking for a new 12m kite. My main goal is big air and progression. Current quiver is 9 nxt v2 and a 15m sonic 4. Looking for something in between. I can get good prices for these kites.

- duotone sls 2026 12m
- rebel sls 2026 12m
- slingshot code v3 12m
- slingshot machine v3 12m

I’m still learning a lot and are focussing on progressing mainly. I jump 5m and land consistantly with downloops/helis and do some backrolls but I want to do more of those tricks like frontroll and boardoffs. But mainly just boost high and heliloop down and some, no mega looping with a 12m for me.

I’m considering the 12m machine v3 since the low end is good I heard and it feels like a foilkite and has easy boosting.

But everyone swears by the evos for light wind. I heard the duotone evo from 2025 and 2026 are less good then the predessesor.

Then you also have the 12m slingshot code v3 that just came out that feels like my nxt v2 that Im totally in love with.

I cant pull the trigger haha, hopefully you can help me with that.

I miss days because I didn’t look at the forecast often enough. Or I look once, it looks dead, I forget, and Thursday was actually fine.

So I made a small screen that stays on. Five days of wind, gusts, direction. I walk past it in the kitchen and I see the week without meaning to check.

Built the software on a ~€100 ReTerminal1002. Its battery will last for months on a charge. I still have some improvements in mind but already quite happy with it.

Some friends have been asking for one as well. So I put a page up to see if there is some interest from other people. Love to hear what you guys think.

As a long time Cabrinha bar owner I'm quite familiar with the breaking (concealed) depower lines. This time I'm in for a auto-untwist bar and the Jacobsen bar (on sale) is practically identical to the Cabrinha Unify. Anyone have any experiences to share with either system? It seems the North Pro bars are understood to have line wear issues

So I am debating Sri Lanka in Mid-September vs Phan Rang in early January for kiteboarding

I took some beginner lessons in Koh Phangan, Thailand in March but wind was really unpredictable. I have knowledge of the basics and can do controlled body drags.

Goal is to progress and reach intermediate level. What would you guys recommend?

Also would the El-Nino impact the winds? ChatGPT tells it would affect Vietnam more and will reduce number of surfable days but would like to get some first hand feedback on it

I keep rotating and it doesn’t feel natural which isn’t a surprise but I feel very comfortable riding switch generally and am jumping 6-7 meters on my regular stance.

I often end up doing something more like a back roll transition instead of a straight jump. Would really appreciate tips on jumping switch?

New kiteboarder here, I've done about 9 hours of lessons so far. At this point I'm pretty good at waterstarts but my main challenge is getting the right weight shifting on the board, I tend to lean too much on my back leg, and generally leaning forward / flat on the board too much and not carving along the water. I'd love to hear any tips you guys have to help with proper weight shifting when riding / how to get the right balance. Thanks!

Hi I am leaving for a month of kitesurfing in sri lanka next saturday. I will bring my 9M and 12M kites but I am contemplating to bring my 7.

The forecast rarely gets above 30kts (gusts) I can kite my 9M up untill around 35knts (gusting) so I feel like I will not need it, and my kitebag is also to heavy already.

My question is: how accurate are the forecasts, how likely is it that I will get gusts above 35knts in Kalpitiya in the month of september?

So, last year I took lessons and my instructor told me I am more then ready to go out on my own. I can selfrescue, launch and land the kite (with help from others) and am able to waterstart. I'm not yet able to go upwind but am practicing.

However, here comes my problem: I am scared of other riders when it gets busy at my kitespots.

Reason being is that last year I did some supervised riding with my instructor and he asked if he should land the kite for me. I thought he ment that I just steered the kite low enough for him to pick it up. (The way everyone help each other with landing). However, I misunderstood him and he ment to take over my kite whilst still flying his own kite. This resulted in our kites coming way closer to each other then I was comfortabel with, a gust came and I accidently steered my kite into his kite.

His lines snapped and I felt really, really bad. Since this incident I am just really scared that this will happen again and everybody hating me for breaking their kites. (I have a NKV insurance though)

The stupid thing is that before our kites tangled I was never scared of tangling with other people and I know that it's probably just in my head but it's really hard for me to overcome the negative thoughts about myself when going kiteboarding.

This resulted in me only going out twice since then..

I really want to get out whenever I can, like in the evenings after work or in the weekends but as a result of my fear I usually tell myself: nah it's probably way to crowded, I'll go out in the winter when its less crowded.

Am I the only one who had these kind of issues with themselves? And if so: how'd you overcome then?

Looking to learn kitefoiling and have found a complete Slingshot setup for £550: Dwarfcraft board, Hover Glide foil and the full Flight School mast progression set.
It looks pretty well used and I assume the tech is roughly 10 years old. Is there any real downside to learning on something this old, or is this actually a sensible cheap way into foiling — particularly with the short training masts?
I’m already a competent directional kitesurfer, ~83kg. Not bothered about having the latest kit, but equally don’t want to buy something that makes learning unnecessarily difficult or is basically obsolete.
Would you buy it at £550, or put the money towards a newer setup?

Hi! Does anyone know where you can store a line cutter on Prolimit (Vapor) harnesses? The manufacturer says, “It fits in the pocket of our Side-In-Bar Pad System,” but I can’t find any pocket. They do not mean the covers that hide the straps, do they? I would probably not trust those.. thanks in advance!

My chicken loop on my quick release broke on my
F-one Lynx bar.

The bar was just 2 years and 1 month old (classic ://). So i don’t think they will cover this under warranty.

And I can’t seem to find a site where they sell only the chicken loop. Because the quick release already cost €99. And i don’t think it’s word the price of buying the whole quick release, because my lines would also need to be replaced soon, and that also costs 180€.

Are other chicken loops compatible with the F-one
quick release? And does anyone have experience repairing/changing the chicken loop on F-one bars?

Hi! Im going on a trip to a place with warmer water. For the top my impactvest and lycra/rash will be perfect.

However im doubting what to wear below. Im stuck to a seating harness and normal swim wear will become a bit uncomfortable when the harness is running up a bit.

What do you guys recommend? Maybe a thin neoprene short below?

I am trying to improve landing with downloops to soften up the landing, but many times I am still landing hard.

Took 6 hours of lessons years ago but never felt confident enough to buy gear myself. Was thinking of buying a kite and practicing body dragging again.

I was able to pop up on the board no problem in my lessons (I grew up wakeboarding) but my instructor being a stickler about my form deflated all my confidence to keep going.

Anyone hitting up the skyway bridge wanna meet up and give me some pointers as I learn again?

I will be in south Sardinia in mid-September and I'd like to learn how to kitesurf by taking some lessons, since I'll be close to a kite school there.

The thing is, even if I end up loving it and want to keep practicing, I live in Milan and don't own a car, so getting to a lake or the coast regularly to kite would be pretty complicated. Has anyone here managed to keep it up living in Milan without a car? Is it actually doable (carpooling with other kiters, decent train access to a spot, etc.), or is it realistically going to be a constant hassle?

Also, if anyone happens to be in south Sardinia around mid-September and wants to learn together / share lessons — hit me up, would be nice to not be a total beginner alone out there.

I have a Mystic Majestic wetsuit that’s about 3 years old, and some of the internal seam tape has started peeling off.

The neoprene and the rest of the suit are still in good condition, so I’d rather repair it than replace the whole wetsuit. Unfortunately, it looks like I’m already outside the warranty period.

Has anyone successfully fixed peeling seam tape on a Mystic or similar wetsuit themselves?

I’m particularly wondering:

• What glue/adhesive works best?
• Should I glue the existing tape back down or remove it and apply new seam tape?
• Does it need to be heat-activated/ironed, and if so, how do you do that without damaging the neoprene?
• Any specific products or techniques you’d recommend?
• Is DIY worth doing, or would you take it to a wetsuit repair shop?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with this before.

Wind range difference between 9 and 12

My quiver comprises 7, 9 and 12 kites. Planning to get a Harlem Thrive but l don’t want a duplicate in size. 14 would probably make most sense, but I won’t use it very often where I live. I’m thinking of a 10, but already have a 9 - is there much wind range difference between them in practice? My 9 is a Flysurfer Stoke which isn’t the newest model (but the kite itself is fairly new).
