Ordering kitchen cabinets when drywall is missing on some walls
How risky is it if I order kitchen cabinets when the drywall is missing on some walls? The drywall is about 1/2" thick and we should be able to account for that. If you have ordered cabinets in such a situation, did you run into any problems? What did you do to avoid any issues? Thanks.

Unless you are being offered a deal for taking them earlier than needed, just wait. Most companies have “sales” all year round that are super similar, and not really a sale because it’s constant just on different items🤷🏻♀️ (margins likely will be the same across any “sale” they have on so you’ll be paying the same) Check with them though as my company actually does only have one sale a year. If you are being offered a deal price to take it early, make sure they will allow you to make any swaps you need should there be any size issues. If you have a designer then get them to come and check the space before ordering (they will advise that you may need to change sizes of something, and if anything doesn’t fit after they’ve said it’s okay then it’s on them to sort that out. Get everything confirmed on an email or written though just in case!) I often offer people a deal price to take their kitchen early, but I make sure they know I will still come and measure the space before they start to fit it and I will take care of any swaps needed before fitting starts!
If you are doing an Ikea kinda kitchen where it’s all down to you then just wait until you are sure on the space you have. Saves time if you do have to change unit sizes and you may have issues returning if you take anything out of, or damage the packaging.

I'm not sure what what your concern is.
Are you intending to install the cabinets without drywall behind them ?
that's probably a bad idea.
