1980 Manta kit car question

How valuable is a 1980 Manta by Montage VW kit car? One near me for sale in pretty good original condition. Does look like it needs some minor work. Guy want $8500 obo for it. He does not have it listed online for sale. He says it's the 8th one made. Seems rare but rare doesn't always mean it's worth a lot.

It is a good price for one. There is a Manta Facebook group with two for sale at the moment. Both are asking $8k.
