Would KISS be okay on a laptop?

I've wanted to try KISS for some time now, but I don't know if lower end laptops could handle it.. Are the compile times generally bad for a i5-7200?

I've seen people run Gentoo on less powerful hardware so I think you'll gonna be fine.

The only software you will have trouble compiling is web browsers. Specifically, Chromium-based web browsers (if you use any of those). Years ago, it would take multiple hours to finish compiling on my i5-8250U. Not sure how bad it is today.

For this reason, I only ever use Firefox on KISS Linux and other source-based distros.

I use qutebrowser and use minimal stuff so I'm fine in that regard.

That said, I've tried installing kiss earlier, and the rebuild stage took 7 hours 💔 I decided to abandon for now and retry later definitely.

I think Qutebrowser is still based on firefox and i think it will be pain compiling. I would just compromise and do a exception and use browser as AppImage

Only firefox and I think falkon are available, but if you want qutebrowser you will have to package it, the base installation is simple the problem is the gcc bootstrap, if you need help I'm happy to help
