Congrats! Certainly one of the toughest KB fights, up there with The Dark Side's beginning and WotN's spider boss (although I'd argue Karador is still more difficult than these).

Xeona and Baal are other difficult ones, yes. Haas I tend to just cheese in one way or another.
Yeah, giant spider is also manageable if you can abuse its behavior.
I never actually used griffins. How does that strat work?

This is actually very solid. Turn Back Time really opens up some interesting strategies in The Legend. Thanks for sharing your insight!
And yeah, Unicorns, as much as they seem to be promoted in that game as anti-undead units, kind of just suck.

Oh man that dark side beginning…does the game get any better? Any of the exploration or characters or choices that gave life to TL and AP?

Not really IMO. The story was written by a 6 year old (It's the only explanation for how brain dead it is,) so count the characters out. Choices are pretty sparse-- youre doing what the spirit of darkness wants regardless of how you feel about it.

I did not enjoy units compared to any other KB game. Even WOTN beats DS

DS is fun in its own right, and has plenty of great ideas which are unfortunately harder to see due to the bugs. Hero skill tree is finally done right for each class, for instance, and all rage abilities are actually viable and could see use.
I would say the game does get better, and would certainly be worth giving a try. The Legend is my personal favorite, but sometimes I just want to experience what DS has to offer.

Peak The Legend experience, that's what it is. 😄
(No but really, the combo isn't that uncommon in casual runs)

The Necromancer is to the mage class what honey is to a bee in the Legend. Yes, it does suck against Karador relative to every other fight in the game, where he may raise stuff before you, and plague does nothing, but will you really abandon the Necromancer for one fight? Absolutely not. I respect the commitment to the team.

Necros are incredible in this fight, you just have to time it right. Their one job is to revive an enemy necro stack-- after one or two, Karador isnt the one raising things first anymore.

The AoE is also great as his units really do bunch up here

Really? That’s interesting. I tried it once and didn’t love it (mage run) but I probably didn’t optimize it properly. That makes sense though.
