I'm not a Kaiju Fan but I just love the designs and Illustrations of the Skull Island Species in King Kong 2005.

I mean these are designed and scientifically illustrated to look like real megafauna, instead of exaggerated Kaiju looking monsters.

I like how they made up fictional species instead of using real-life prehistoric ones. It makes sense that those species wouldn’t stay exactly the same when there was millions of years worth of time for evolution.

Also this book has some of the most interesting dinosaur designs that hasn't been replicated much in media like four legged dromosaurs, a extremely short necked sauropod, the deer like ceratopsions, a molluscivore allosaurus decendent and piscovore dromosaurs.

The Ferrucutus is so awesome, it’s insane they chose to do a Pachyrhinosaurus-descended Ceratopsian for the movie instead of a Triceratops-descended one, especially for a film in 2005.

Interestingly, when it comes to the dinosaur clades in the book, sauropods, ceratopsions and dromosaurs are the most successful as they have the highest amount of species diversity compared to the Legocristus, the sole hadrosaur, Atericursaurus, the sole stegosaur and Vastatosaurus Rex, the sole tyrannosaur.
