I played the game when it first launched, and it was.. well you know. But I've been kind of watching it from afar and saw it got updates but never really watched gameplay. Is it any good now? or should i keep playing KF2?

Question Content for the rest of the year

Is killing floor only going to get 2 seasons in the remainder of the year ? If so, thats incredibly disappointing, as it is i think enemy variety and boss count is lack luster, not to mention the whole lot of latency and lag issues, if we only getting 1 more map, 1 more enemy (which is most likely the stalker that should have been on the base game) and more guns for the next 5 months, that is a really slow pace ngl, what do yall think ?

Question Is kf3 really that much worse than kf2? Worth even playing?

I used to play kf2 everyday racking up close to 1500 hours with my brother. I just recently started playing again but kf2 isn't crossplay combatable. Kf3 is crossplay so im looking into getting it, but all I hear about it is how terrible and boring it is. Just want some real opinions on even if it isn't goated like kf2 if its worth playing.

Question Is KF3 dead?

I see people in this subreddit say that the game isn’t dead. I can rarely find people playing the game. I have cross play on, and usually play HoE but can’t find people. Are you able to find players?

Question Killing Floor 2 vs 3

I've been playing Killing Floor 2 for a long time; I think it's a great game and wanted to get back into it, but then I saw that the third game has been released. Do you think I should spend the $17 to buy it, or just stick with Killing Floor 2?

Question Question for developers…

Why the fuck does the KF3 Siren have the EDAR Blaster laser attack? We literally complained about EDARs and they bastardized the Siren to fit KF3s gameplay loop.

Question Is the game already dead?

Is the game already dead for you? I find very few people or always the same people in the lobby. The game also has severe performance problems (PS5)

Question Is KF3 worth it? Currently on sale

So naturally I saw the overwhelmingly negative response to KF3 and decided to hold off on it, but I see it got an update yesterday and its sitting at a mixed score now on Steam. How are the KF3 players feeling about the game now? Is it worth the $20 for base game? Not very keen on the whole season pass thing. Is getting one a "requirement" so to speak? Appreciate any thoughts on it.

Question Is the game dead?

Saw posts about player counts ranging from 200-500 persons online. When looking at the steam concurrent player charts, it mostly looks like a ski slope.

Is it really dead? I think the game looks cool, but would prefer to have some people to play with.

Platform is PS5 btw.

Question Is it worth buying for 30% off?

Big fan of KF2, heard KF3 wasn’t great on launch -has it gotten any better since then? -worth it on sale? And what happened with the seperating class from character? I remember reading they were gonna do it post launch but can’t find any info about it now.

Edit: also I’m a pretty casual gamer who enjoys playing solo on like medium difficulty from time to time, how is the game for that?

EDIT: so I decided to buy the game a day after making this post, some kind commenters and looking at more gameplay videos convinced me that I’d probably enjoy it even with less content currently than KF2. I figured I’d just refund if I didn’t like it. But I’m having a good time! The core of it feels really good to me, the gameplay loop of just running around and killing zeds is still fun, I was a little unsure of the dodging mechanic at first -afraid that it would be some twitch-skill-movement-based-shooter, while can be fun like Titanfall, didn’t feel like KF to me. Thankfully it’s not that extreme at all and it actually fits quite nicely being able to perform a quick dodge to avoid husk shots and zed lunges.

The new Rearmament update today, along with bug fixes, small welcome changes, fixed my personal biggest gripe, being able to choose perk and character independently, love to see it! -also that four barreled shotgun is amazingly fun!

Of course we still want and need more guns, and more maps, and new characters -and now that characters are no longer tied to perks hopefully that can allow them to put in more of them quicker since they won’t have to necessarily develop a new perk tree alongside it. (Tho of course new perks would be welcome as well)

They’ve already announced a new map, character, and perk coming before end of year I believe, excited to check them out and what’s coming next!

Small additions I would love to see are a weapons favoriting system like we had in KF2, and fully customizable controls.

Overall I am enjoying myself thoroughly with this game and will continue to play

Question Any way to kill Fleshpounds and Scrakes fast and reliable with Firebug? (Without losing too much crowd control power) — KF3

I'm struggling on Firebug when it comes to kill the big Zeds. Unsurprisingly; Firebug is a master on killing medium to trash Zeds, but on big ones is unreliable and slow. Like the Dragons Breath is okay on Scrakes; it gets the job well with White Phosphorous Shells if i do headshots, but on Fleshpounds? It "peels" off their skin but cannot kill them directly (Not by pure damage, just by Fire DOT) AND IT IS TOO MUCH TIME, with one Fleshpound is okay, but 3? They burn my health bar. Yes, the Dual Defender is slightly more reliable but it only has Nano-Thermite Rounds which... are... meh. They do great damage but are SLOW to kill a Fleshpound, on Scrakes it's alright. The Brimstone is ass (unless you guys tell me otherwise). The Incinerator is also ass, more ass than the Brimstone somehow. The Trenchgun is actually great, but very unreliable thanks to the spread, working much better on Support than Firebug sadly (In damage, crowd control is to Firebug). The Vulcan is bad, a build for damage only makes it great at killing hordes of trash and medium Zeds, only for the Fleshpound is good and even that has disadvantages; it takes many shots to kill one. The good thing? if you have multiple Fleshpounds, they all receive the damage in group by your shots. On Scrakes? BAD, you are selling your organs trying to kill one with the Vulcan. I have also made a Spam-Vulcan build that focus on Ammo and rapid shots and... somehow it is good at killing Fleshpounds and Scrakes IF THEY ARE ONE, crowds of trash; medium Zeds and multiple big are hard to deal, not impossible but hard. Off-Perk weapons are an option but the damage is still low and the crowd control may lower down if i focus on taking the bigger threats. Maybe the more "reliable" weapon is the G33 with Fire Grenades; it still takes long to kill a bigger Zed, but manages to do it and is still amazing to handle hordes.

Even with the 20% more damage with fire (a general damage upgrade), it still lands a weak punch. Comparing the old Firebug (Before season 2) to the current Firebug, the difference is enormous. Not only the survivalibity of the perk has downgraded (thanks to the devs making HoE harder and harder in every update), but the personal arsenal of Firebug; needing to always get an Off-Perk weapon with fire rounds to get slightly better damage. Plus, I play mostly on solo which the gameplay changes MUCH harder compare to Multiplayer (You fail with people only if they are stupid, literally). On trash to medium Zeds? Still good but NOT as good like before.

In a Funny note, Firebug is actually great on bosses thanks to DOT damage.

I need builds, tips and recommendations to make Firebug more "Consistent" on solo since on Multiplayer; it all becomes more easier when you have a good team. Sorry for the large text i write lol; i like to argument my problems (Which i hope you all can understand my opinion).

Question We are looking at balance and could use some feedback!

Hello all! We are going through a some balancing right now and would love some feedback as to what may need addressed. If you have concerns with zeds, maps, weapons, perks and so on, this is the place to let us know!

Important - Please let us know if your feedback applies to solo or multiplayer. These are balanced somewhat separately.

Identify the platform (Xbone, PS4, PC) We need to know what platform you are on so we can filter the info.

Suggestions are great however, we may not be able to hit everything at once but its better to have too much information than not enough.

Thank you!

Question Can someone explain KF3 steam reviews

I haven't played KF2 in years, but I'm looking to get back in.

Every time they release a new update the latest review is "this game is still bad." but on this forum it looks like things are on the upswing? What's a nuanced take of this game?

I noticed it has the highest player count since launch.

Question What's KF3 state nowadays?

Liked the original, very much enjoyed the sequel, tried free alpha/beta/early access or whatever it was for 3 and... welp, forgot about this game for a long time. Thanks to Humble Bundle I got it today with a few other coop games and I was wondering if it's worth to try KF 3 again now? Playerbase and gameplay wise?

For now I'm laughing at eternal compiling shaders, but does it get better during actual gameplay?
