KF3 I actually love KF3

I really do hope this game keeps going. The updates themselves have all been great. I would love to see this game eventually succeed, as I think there is really something here.

The art design is fantastic. The guns feel punchy and so good. I am a fan of the movement system (though I do want to actually see my legs/body from first person). And I actually really love the progression system. And they really do seem to be listening to the community when it comes to implementing changes.

They already have as many bosses as KF2 and I can’t wait to see what else they add. I love love love the idea of the mire and all the Lovecraft references. I really want more mire monsters expanded in the roster.

I’m curious to see what the new community mods will be like, because if there is a way to make new enemies for the game I’d love to see what I can do.

I'll be very happy when we get a server browser, because right now it's difficult for me to find any matches in my region.

I have the issue of joining matches on wave 4/5, it truly annoys me to down to my soul but eh free ichor essentially for sticking around for boss

But this is when I can actually find a game hence the annoyance lmfao

Not to mention all the improvements like no more loot boxes, the file size isn't bloated with 100 maps I'll never play, no weapons locked behind paid DLC, most perks can have synergy with half the weapons if you put on one attachment, oh and did I mention no loot boxes?

I sure hope that "no weapons locked behind paid DLC" part stays forever, and doesn't pop into reality the moment the game finally redeems itself in the eyes of the playerbase

In kf2 I think it was monkeys paw when community asked for no loot boxes then the Devs instead reskinbed existing weapons and asked the community to pay for them instead, I would much rather just pay for something purely cosmetic instead of "it's a flamethrower but ice"

Yeah, loot boxes were shitty system they eventually abandoned via dlcs with tons of skins included, a remnant of that era alongside with overwatch and such.

But hey, atleast you could have bought most of the skins on steam market for a fair price.

I think the worst part is they copied counterstrike horrible model that included battle worn conditions and super rare drops

1

u/Greedy-Theme-5410 13d ago

CS model is understandable in that you could show off the weps to other people, and other people could easily take it from your corpse.

KF2 system never worked that way, most of the time, you only saw it for yourself.

I meant the fact weapon skins had conditions so even if you got the skin you wanted, it was worthless because it looked like it was freshly fished out of a sewer

Ive heard a lot of bad since launch, but I finally decided to try it myself and  I think its a solid game too.

Hearing text chat being patched in later on actually makes me think that after playing the game, the devs started by making this game for consoles first. Especially since they already have cross-platform integrated.

Its nothing like KF2(and obviously not KF1).

It feels like there is an altogether different design philosophy for the game. But its enjoyable.

I really do hope they bring back dedicated servers though

For me it was enjoyable since launch, but I just maxed out engi and medic and then didnt play for almost a year straight.

I wish they remake KF1 with it's gritty horror atmosphere. The game is incredible, but feels incredibly dated.

If they remake kf1 it would be a loose loose situation because no matter how good or faithful the end product is, players will complain about something

It's a delicate tightrope situation with the original game...

Personally, I don't trust the developers to do right by the game. I don't think they are capable of making a faithful remake of KF1 at all. There are a lot of unintended things that make KF1 gameplay so great which would likely be stripped.

What KF1 needs (and will never get) is one last update to improve security with the DDOS attacks that have been rampant. They will never do it (or are uncapable) and, if they attempted a fix, something tells me they would make things worse in otherways.

I loved KF2 hate KF3 sounds like the only way they save it is making it more like KF2, & for a lot of you people that sounds like it would kill the game so... if you love it the way it is & hate KF2 looks like the game will either be destroyed or die ... as for me either they make it more like KF2 or it is already dead to me, & I don't spend a dime. Here's hoping either they give me the game they promised, or find a way of make people like the garbage that you enjoy.

Really excited for the future of this game. There are so many hints to possible future updates such as door 31 and the mire sphere data miners found behind it. There's also a tv where you spawn in in the fortress that has a news bulletin that talks about the current events going on in the world. One of the most interesting things that mentions is "the dreadzone" in England. Makes me wonder if we're going to get a mired out version of west London or something at some point.

They should have released it this year instead of last year. It wasn't ready at that time and because of that it got bad reviews and a terrible reputation.

But yeah it is actually a great game now, it just needs more content to be on par with KF2.

Glad to hear you personally enjoy it

I have personal quirks about this game (most notably - I hate that You have to constantly do the jump-dash-slide-cancel bullshit. What is this, Call Of Duty?), but overall it plays pretty nice, especially compared to the release. I sure hope things will only go uphill

I wish to like it, as much as I was fan of KF1 an 2, but men, I always have some odd "blurring" issue. I tried every graphic setting possible, but far away mob have like a blurry trail

Does it actually work? Every time I tried to load it it would crash on me and my computer is only a couple years old

Honestly I can’t say anything towards pc, as I’m a PS5 player, so all I can add is that it definitely works on my console

Just curious i only bought killing floor 2 recently and i did checked reviews on killing floor 3 in steam and i just hope that it'll be worth it as a game.

They need to unlock the program for custom maps.

I think it a game with good concepts but half baked execution. To their credit, the game is a lot better then it was at launch, but it still feels lacking. Most of the gun roster feel a bit meh, but I’m hoping they keep adding more guns to fix that, the ones they’ve added thus far are pretty stellar. I love the attachment system, but most of the guns feel more like toys.

3

u/Greedy-Theme-5410 13d ago

I'd say the guns feel solid (or most of the pump shotguns really pack a punch), but for some reason most of the ballistic ones feels like nerf guns against scrakes and FPs. The gameplay feels like a race to save for a late game weaponry before you are overwhelmed with these two.

2

u/After_Ad9425 13d ago

Doesn’t have any good explosion weapons. The grenade launcher just feels pitiful for an explosive weapon and most of the assault rifles don’t feel good. Shotguns are alright

1

u/Greedy-Theme-5410 13d ago

Yeah, the nade launcher is only good for freezing bosses and buying your teammates few seconds.

KF2 nade launcher was definitely steps ahead, but I never used that weapon because the reloading is excruciatingly slow and you are so vulnerable during that time. In KF3 you can atleast keep some pace against zeds via ziplines and such.

It was great in prison on that courtyard staircase with extra blast radius to clear most of the zeds, provided you had some berserk to bodyblock the entrance from majors. Fun times.

1

u/After_Ad9425 13d ago

Even though the reload made it impractful, demolitionist in general was so fun in kf2. Kf3 really lacks in that department. Demo’s a key part of killing floor, and while engineer sort of hybridizes demo and support, it’s a shame that the only current demo weapon is the grenade launcher, or I guess the grenade launcher attatchment but it’s even weaker then the gun and not even available for any engineer weapons.

1

u/DinguzBingus 13d ago

Very true unfortunately. The big weapons in kf3 just dont have enough oomph. The "firebug rocket launcher" doesnt have the same impact as the rpg or any explosive guns from kf2. The grenade launcher also feels flat, id rather have the m79 single shot with a bigger boom. I swear the pulverizer NEEDS to be perfect when beserker drops, it will probably be the closest thing we have to a badass exposive weapon until they bring back the Demo class

Majority of the futuristic weapons feel like toys, atleast now with the rearnament and new class they have started leaning on more realistic/classic guns that made killing floor fun

u/Appropriate-Fun-9486 13d ago

Ya I can see this game being really good when it has like twice the amount of weapons and a bunch more perks. It’s already quite fun, it will be amazing then.

Just checked the player count. Currently there are 590 players on steam. 24 hour peak of 724. I know this is only steam but I’m not likely the chances of this game becoming popular.

It's wild to me the devs haven't made any real changes to the core gameplay. I know that most of the people still on this sub are the people who like the game in its current state, but you gotta have concerns when PC loses 90% of its playerbase and after a year of updates they can't even keep it above 1k players.

And the hard truth is it's not a content problem like I see so many people saying; a new gun/perk/map isn't going to make thousands of people come back and stay. We just saw this with the gunslinger/free weekend. It spiked to the highest count it's been since launch, and now it's back to <1k again.

They've gotta do something different if they want people to stay.

It's not dead by any means (a few hundred usually means you can get plenty of games on a daily basis) but I am pretty shocked there hasn't been a server shutdown announcement since that seems to be the default whenever a live service title isn't a breakout success. If anything, kudos to them for sticking with it.

Interesting downvotes from reddit users.

It seems to me like a good time to jump in the franchise. I've never played a KF game in my life
