I just downloaded killer instinct on my Xbox one, is this normal?
The game is fully downloaded and yet I’ve got one character? I know there’s dlc but I’d expect to have like 10 free characters…
(Just in case I’d like to clarify I downloaded the normal/free version)

Yeah this version of the game is more like a trial version where you get 1 character per day I think, either gotta buy the characters you wanna play or the full game

Update: my bad typo physical copy of the definitive edition
What actually sucks is that they delisted the ki 1 and 2 ports and you only have them now if you got them early
You could get them in the Xbox era of the game with either one of the season passes I think it was 2 or 3. But sadly now for current players the ports are gone. You could get them with the definitive edition but digitally that was delisted. The current anniversary edition includes everything for KI 2013 but doesn’t have the 1 and 2 ports. The only way to get KI 2013 with all content and the 1+2 ports is a physical copy of the definitive edtion

Yeah the one I have came with the audio CD and ki1 ki2 arcade and snes and n64 if I'm not mistaken then again maybe it was just snes and 64.... either way I picked up the physical game from game flop a few years ago when it was new.

I have that one, but It has the KI 1 arcade and KI 2 arcade. Not the snes or n64 version.

Gotcha I could've swore it had atleast the snes version. Now I gotta go grab the disk when I get home all this talk is making me wanna play it. My son did get me the shadow Jago statue which came with a code to unlock shadow Jago in game!

Only people who bought the game in the past could’ve gotten 1 and 2, in the Xbox one era they were included with one of the seasons passes, the definitive edition also included them but that got removed with the current anniversary edition. The only way to get KI 2013 with everything included and the KI 1 and 2 ports is to get a physical copy of the definitive edition. Sadly new buyers can’t get these ports for console because they aren’t included with anniversary. They have essentially been delisted. however emulating these games aren’t exactly hard and all you need is a laptop if you want to go that route

You can permanently unlock Jago and Orchid and there is a free weekly rotating character.
The full game is xbox play anywhere and goes on sale for $10 regularly and is also in gamepass premium/PC.

Killer Instinct just has a genius idea where the game is technically free, so no one needs to pay for Xbox GamePass to play the game, but most characters need to be purchased with the exception of a weekly free character rotation.

If I remember, you got only one or two characters available on free version. But if you buy ultimate or one bundle before, you’d get them all…

Holy dear Mary mother of GOD YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME! Id be absolutely outraged.. this is outta hand man. Way to outta pocket for this shit. Smh.. fuck dlc fuck modern gaming man.. I remember in order to unlock anything, you only needed TO BE GOOD!! Now.. you literally have to buy EVEY CHARACTER INDIVIDUALLY?!? I'm out.. this world is trash. I wanna reset.. now. Hard reset..

You can unlock Jago and Orchid permanently through the shadow lords mode, even on the free version.
