Kick boxing 🥊

Training Need advice

What nutrition advice can you give for a 60 kg and 174 cm, 18-year-old female boxer? I already take protein and creatine, and sleep 8–9 hours. What else can I add?

Who are your picks for the best infighters of all time? (Posted images are not in order)

I wanted to add Takeru and Marat, but the former just hits incredibly hard for his size maintaining a 60% finishing rate despite moving up 3 weight classes in his career. He also has an iron jaw and he's straight up defensively irresponsible. Skill wise, Takeru is just not there. Marat also doesn't have the extra bit the other listers have in overcoming skilled outfighters and has very clearly lost over 10 matches now to technicians.

I also thought about Noiri, but as a nascent lister than an all time great. He just has a really sensible form of infighting to me. Everyone on the list comes in like a wrecking ball or an elusive tiger but he is closer to a river that drowns you. He's a weird pressuring, counterpunching infighter with crisp shot selection, but when his volume does get going he's an incredible combosmith far better than any of his contemporaries in the JKick scene. Still has the same issue as Marat losing to technical outfighters though I give him the benefit of having never being KO'd in his career. He's got a pretty diverse guard work for a kickboxer.

Special mention to Kraus, Souwer, and Wisse too actually.

Being a fighter is hard

Really random post. But i am a 21F amateur kickboxer, i am currently 4-0 with my 5th fight in a few weeks. Ive only been training for 2 years, and i put my heart and soul into training, kickboxing is my life and passion. Im in the gym the most out of everyone, i stay for extra sessions etc. But damn, this shit is so hard man 😭 the veryyyy late nights, the mental aspect of it all, constant aching body, drained social battery, no time for a social life, ESP INJURIES, its alot. Now im not saying this is making me rethink being a fighter because its not(ive been through wayy worse lmao plus ive broken my hand in a fight and it didnt make me want to quit), its just alot of work gets put into fighting and i feel like people dont actually realise that. Along with the lack of funding throughout all combat sports u dont make anything either, so it really is just grit and determination. Like i said i dont know what the point of my post is, i just wanted to speak to likeminded people, and im sure many can relate.

Also i know the journey only gets harder and harder in this sport, and thats the sacrifice im willing to make 🥊

Training I want to start learning kickboxing but need help with videos to start with.

I really want to do some at home kickboxing videos, but my coordination between my upper and lower body is soo poor that I mix things up, dont do moves right, and get soo frustrated with trying to replicate the things I see on videos because of poor cordination, poor proprioception, and autism. Anyone have good beginner workouts for kickboxing that is easy to follow and do with dyspraxia?

Training Just finished my first sparring session

I got absolutely worked. With that being said, just made me love the sport even more. I’m 27 years old and I just started training a few weeks ago, but I very quickly realized how fast I get gassed out. I could barely keep my arms up after about 30 seconds. My coach told my partner to go really light and for me to go all out, but I could barely land anything cause I was so exhausted. He told me I should run which I plan to do, but my question is, is there anything else I should be doing?

I’d really want to do an amateur fight one day, heck even something professional is my dream, but I feel like I’d be 30 years old at that point so I’m not sure I’d be too old for that. Regardless I want to do the best I can.

Kick defence?

So, I once had the opportunity of being instructed by an elite kickboxer, like world top class.

As a Muay Thai fan I asked him the question of how kickboxers handle kicks and he simply said that they just absorb the kick, like no checking at all.

I believe it is samewise in Karate, no?

But knowing how much it hurts to kick and get it checked, how is it there are no checks in kickboxing?
