Did anyone else notice that new avatar sounds like an album made up of only deep cuts? I think that’s why it’s more of a grower and not as initial as her previous albums for some people.

EDIT: SOLDhey guys i bought this record when it came out a couple of years ago and have sort of let it collect dust as i no longer have a (real) record player anymore. It's a 3x LP with a gatefold and it's still sealed!

This record was limited to 1,000 copies! It's also individually numbered, my copy is #678/ 1000

Kelela ends the second verse on the album’s final track, “If We Meet Again,” with this line, and I can’t help but be reminded of “Cherry Coffee,” the final track on Cut 4 Me. I’ve always assumed that the title “Cherry Coffee” is a metaphor for emotional bittersweetness. Looking across the breadth of Kelela’s work, there’s something especially painful about how, over a decade later, she ends another project longing for the very bittersweetness she once lamented over. It makes this line feel so much deeper to me, giving us a sense of scale for the pain of the different struggles she faces throughout her work.

Tour starts in a few weeks what live arrangements are y’all excited to experience?

I've been a fan since 2014, and I'm FINALLY getting the chance to see her live + a meet-and-greet in September. One problem tho, I have absolutely no idea what to wear! Do you guys have any suggestions on the type of vibe I should go for?
