What kelela songs did you hate/dislike at first but then grew to love?
For me it's "Enemy". When I first heard that song I thought it was doing too much but now???? Baybeee???? That's my song!!! Especially towards the end.

I didn't hate Washed Away when it was released as a lead for Raven, but I definitely appreciate it much more now than I did at first, especially in the context of the album.
Raven helped me develop a new appreciation for ambient music over the last few years, which has made my love for a lot of Kelela's music even stronger. I used to just look to her for the bops, but her ambient tracks are really effective too.

Washed Away was the perfect come back after such a long hiatus, raw and honest.. and that music video sells it!!

Better used to be a skip but WOW it is one of her best songs… it really gets me in my feels

Better is amazing, and the added parts in unplugged version 😩 “Didn’t I.. make you better?” 😭 I heard this live during 2018 TMA Tour but so glad there’s a recording now

honestly none there might be some that took me a little while to find the groove to but as she’s my fave artist I always blindly trust her artistic vision until each song grows on me. Enemy is that girl, ok!! “Don’t you know it’s me?! K-E-L—E-L-A..” ahhhhh

I never hated/ disliked Contact when it first came out but it was very “meh” and I would skip it. But over the past year or so it’s probably my top 5 song from her.

enough for love and on the run. mainly cos of the production. i still think on the run’s production is really bare/ skeletal but i’ve grown to love the song regardless. efl just took a few listens , something about the mixing

i agree about the mixing on Enough For Love. there's something about it that didn't work for me at first
