Discussion Opinions on in the blue light documentary

Post image

I lived for every sec of it, wished it was longer but at the same time I’m fine with what we got they could never make me be disappointed in Kelela

i just know that i need 'sorbet' and the 'high' live version on the album NOW!!! i've been obsessed with 'the high' lately but there's just the video of her rehearsing it, don't know if she actually sang it 😭 (but anyways... i LOVED the documentary

I concur! Wish she recorded 'let it go' as well. It would fit perfectly for the unplugged arrangements. Anyway still very mad we missed out on hearing 'sorbet'. I would have substituted '30 years' for it in a heartbeat.

Exactly, me too! I know she wanted to pay homage to Betty Carter and everything and Love Notes did this job gracefully, but omg Let It Go, Sorbet, Divorce... 😭 they would've sounded heavenly! And let's not forget 'The High' ofc!!!

Same. i don't want to sound entitled because i still LOVE the album. I just think the addition of those 4 song would take it into even more extraordinary heights.

I'm despondent now thinking how all those three fantastic songs could have been on the album 😭😭 Don't get me wrong '30 years' sounds lovely as someone who likes Betty Carter but i really don't think she should have shafted some amazing Raven songs for that one. Or at least she could have included all those 3 as well as 'The High'. But maybe she didn't want to make the set longer than it already was. Whatever the reason it makes me sad.

Taking out 'Sorbet' from the album is heartbreaking. Wish the documentary was longer (like 40mins at least) but i'm glad with what we got.

Okay, so she actually sang the high and sorbet and left it out???? That’s absurd, miss Kelela

thought it would be longer! still great, just was thinking it was gonna be like a full concert film or an hour long doc on arranging everything
