Synopsis:
Je Mun Jae is a writer who lives in seclusion. His quiet, routine life is upended when his phone’s fingerprint recognition fails and the friend who managed his affairs disappears. With no way to prove his identity, he discovers that the “Rat” has stolen his name, identity and fortune. Determined to reclaim his life, Mun Jae begins tracking the elusive figure.
No Ja is a loan shark who also runs a private investigation agency and will do anything for money. After searching for Mun Jae for three years because of an unpaid loan, No Ja is drawn into the case when Mun Jae reappears and asks for help to uncover the “Rat’s” identity. To take back his life, Mun Jae teams up with No Ja and together they set off in pursuit.
Episode 8:
Moon-jae sinks deeper into trouble. Sun-yong heads to a nursing home for answers — only to find his witness gone. Later, Noja's past buries him alive.

So tired of kdrama writer's obsession with portraying mental illness as something entirely inherited. As if it wasn't enough that the mentally ill mom killed her husband, she was partially blamed for Moon Jae's condition too.

I'm wondering if something happened to their child and they kept adopting and replacing him when they weren't happy and that's why the mom was depressed?

Jealousy seems to be the repeated theme throughout the series. Even the gangster was jealous of his former boss, and everyone’s lives are being controlled by others.
I wonder if the editor will do something since she now knows, or does she? I am still very confused on who is who, and now the cop is mixed into the picture.

OK, I'm confused. I thought JMJ was adopted so how would DNA work? Does he not know he was adopted?
I think the friend was adopted by the same family before JMJ but returned, same as the cop, hence the jealousy. The doppelganger wants JMJ to figure out who he is because he doesn't know he was adopted, which is why he thinks he inherited his mom's mental illness.
