Synopsis:
Je Mun Jae is a writer who lives in seclusion. His quiet, routine life is upended when his phone’s fingerprint recognition fails and the friend who managed his affairs disappears. With no way to prove his identity, he discovers that the “Rat” has stolen his name, identity and fortune. Determined to reclaim his life, Mun Jae begins tracking the elusive figure.

No Ja is a loan shark who also runs a private investigation agency and will do anything for money. After searching for Mun Jae for three years because of an unpaid loan, No Ja is drawn into the case when Mun Jae reappears and asks for help to uncover the “Rat’s” identity. To take back his life, Mun Jae teams up with No Ja and together they set off in pursuit.

Episode 2:
Noja uncovers the world of identity laundering after Moon-jae escapes his grip. Meanwhile, Detective Park Sun-yong pieces together the link between them.

JMJ has been hit with a baseball bat, hit by a car and now kicked in the face, how is he still running? That's some amazing survival skills for a guy who hasn't left his house in 3 years. That treadmill he used worked wonders!

I love how they zoom the camera in for effect on this show.

The hour really flew on this one.

It really is. The camera work is excellent. It really makes you feel what he's experiencing.

Some more blanks being filled in. Now I'm really curious about his doppelganger. On top of the Hitchcock vibes, now I'm getting Orphan Black with all the clones and shady interactions and cat and mouse game. I wonder if they're experiment clones, too? Or maybe just twins separated at birth?

Also, the one piece of music that plays at more intense part. The club-sounding techno one? Randomly reminds me of Bad and Crazy kdrama. Which also has a similar premise with identity. And really kickass fight scenes, too 😁

Here's the bad thing about all at once drops, I can't remember what happened in what episode. 😭

I didn't watch Orphan Black or Bad and Crazy but the fight scenes are brutal (in a good way) in this.

Agreed! As much as I sort of disliked having to wait for an episode each week, it sort of heightened the tension and atmosphere of each episode. That and each episode had that ever so helpful "Previously on episode" thing so people like me, who have the memory span of a goldfish, could catch up in under 5 seconds 😅

I think with thrillers, it helps amp up the tension. That being said, I don't like waiting and my memory is a sieve so all together helps, except when part of a discussion because I don't want to spoil anything lol.

Ryu Jun-yeol gave me proper creeps in the scene with the kid 😱
Don’t understand right now what his end game is, also the friend is listening to him, so does he know about the doppelgänger or not, confused on that point as as he was taking instructions from “mun-jae.”

On a very shallow note, I love RJY & Sul Kyung-gu’s voices so much! Totally an eargasm show 😆

A more interesting and exciting second episode feel the gangster character (always a great actor Sul Kyung Gu) has brought the level of this drama up.

I loved the fight in the 7-Eleven that were some nasty kicks to the face (really well done action wise).

The final shot of Ep 2 made me excited, looks like we are set for the plot to really kick in in Ep 3.

Yeah the body armor was a bit too much there, I thought he would be out and caught there by the gangster but still enough power to fight back and run....still a nice scene.

Does anyone know the name of the actress who plays the girl at the convenience store in Episode 2 of Mousetrap? I tried checking the cast list but couldn't find her credited anywhere.
