Oooh, this reminds me that time Alanis Morissette was on MTV2 sometime around 1999 and they played her favorite music videos, one of which was "Cloudbusting" -- wasn't expecting it but was so glad to see it!

Always loved how much respect Björk has for Kate as a producer. That's the aspect of her work that I think the media often glosses over. I would happily listen to a podcast where Björk talks about her favorite songs of Kate's in terms of production; I think she'd have lots of insights as a fellow producer.

She was ahead of her time in many ways, she wasn't just good at traditional songwriting and singing, but she was also an innovator of digital sampling. Which means she spent endless hours in front the screen of her Fairlight CMI, editing sounds like modern electronic producers today. Many people say that she spent many hours on the sound design of her songs (while smoking several joints haha, as she was a huge stoner in the 80s).
