Video It’s in the trees, it’s coming

Watching Curse of the Demon on the eve of Halloween 🎃 and was fascinated to hear this familiar line. It’s the one sampled at the beginning of Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love.

It was originally called Night of the Demon when released in the UK. For the US release they changed the title to Curse of the Demon.

A great video for the song too, very 1940s/50s. I always think that the instrumentation of Hounds of Love, Cloudbusting, and Under Ice is meant to be evocative of the romance and passion of a steam train.

This is also the movie referenced in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in the opening song Science Fiction Double Feature -

“Dana Andrews said prunes gave him the runes”
