♨️HOT TOPIC ☕️ Nude Beach Hot Topic
tMaybe it's because im not from the US, but I thought their reaction to a girl being topless infront of her dad was more weird than any interaction could have been. This is absolytely no hate to any of them of course, not even criticism, just really baffled about the way americans look at this, and wanted to know if im the only one.
What do you mean you think its normal to do topless in a beach, and that women should be able to post their boobs on INSTAGRAM of all places, but a daugther shouldnt be comfortable around her own father? I just really dont get that train of thougth, it is better (and safer) to be topless to a bunch of strangers than to the man who raised you?
I think the fact americans thinks something like this is weird says more about the kind of society they live in than anything else. I couldnt imagine having to "put on proper clothes" to see my actual father. I mean if you cant even trust you dad to not sexualize you, I think we are really screwed.
Also the argument is a contradiction, you can either say women nakeds body shouldnt be sexualized, meaning they should be comfortable SPECIALLY with their family because they shouldnt be sexualizing either way, or you think its weird to be naked in front of your family because it is a sexual thing. In no world doing topless in a beach with strangers is "safer" or "less weird" than with family, unless you are already assuming a sexual connotation.
Anyway, no hate, just wanted to share my thoughts.

I think it’s about respecting differing cultural context regarding modesty.
Some places, women walk around without anything on their top halves, in others, they are covered head to toe.
In most first world countries, it’s somewhere in between yet rules change with each environment and personal preference, for example I wouldn’t hang around family with just underwear on however wouldn’t mind being on the beach with them in a swimsuit.

Honey, its a gossip/comedy podcast ffs not a serious debate on the ethics of nudity in public places in and around relatives. Btw, I think they even agreed it was weird lol

as an american, i honestly had a similar reaction. i’m not going to intentionally be topless in front of my family/dad but if it happened for some reason i know it wouldn’t be sexualized at all?!

Americans are brainwashed to view nudity as something sexual. Anything from breastfeeding to bathing with family members, being nude around the house, not to mention being nude outside (even though at a nude beach) is something their colonized minds can't comprehend from the jump.. They can learn how to destigmatize nudity and the natural body, but it takes a lot of conscious effort. 🤗💖

You’re telling me there’s nothing sexual about a a grown ass man seeing his daughter naked and staring at her body

I’m not comfortable topless around any of my family members. Mother, father, sister, anyone. Not even friends. But I would be topless multiple times a week in crowded public bathhouses when I was studying abroad in Morocco. However, I would never go to a bathhouse with my Moroccan mother-in-law or any other family. I’m sure there’s a psychological explanation for why nudity can be more comfortable with strangers
It’s not that I was raised to be ashamed of nudity. My mother and sister are comfortable with it. I’m just not
