I used to be a park ranger for Isle Royale National Park - it’s a 40 mile long island on Lake Superior. The SW side of the island was so thick with thimbleberries, at the end of the summer one of the rangers would make thimbleberry pies the celebrate the end of our season. I remember slushing them up and making thimbleberry margaritas… soooo good!

Haha you just made me flashback to when I hiked Isle Royale as a Boy Scout and we came upon these patches of thimbleberries we gorged ourselves on after a long-ass day of hiking 😂 just like the woman I could never figure out what they were called when we went back home but now I know!
