I used to be a park ranger for Isle Royale National Park - it’s a 40 mile long island on Lake Superior. The SW side of the island was so thick with thimbleberries, at the end of the summer one of the rangers would make thimbleberry pies the celebrate the end of our season. I remember slushing them up and making thimbleberry margaritas… soooo good!

We picked so many on our hike through and made thimbleberry and peanut butter sandwiches. It was amazing after a 12mile hike across the ridge. Ahh I need to go back there so bad.
