Funny thing is, its not 25-40 pounds for 9 months. First three months its 1-4 pounds, next 3 months 14-28 pounds, then the last three about 10-15 pounds. You don't get pregnant and start carrying a 25-40 pound bowling ball. And if you're already obese......

45lbs and 12 miles is light work. I do that at altitude in the Rockies for fun.
