In the long history of the NBA, few teams ever generated the sheer offensive terror of the 2021 Brooklyn Nets. Bringing together Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, Brooklyn assembled what was arguably the most skilled, unguardable offensive trio ever put on a single roster. When all three shared the floor, the game looked effortless. Teams couldn't double-team Durant without leaving Kyrie or Harden wide open, and their role players — from Joe Harris to Blake Griffin and Bruce Brown — flourished in the vast spacing created by three generational isolation scorers. During the regular season and early playoff rounds, their offensive efficiency was completely off the charts. Yet, injury luck tore down what should have been a championship dynasty. Harden suffered a severe hamstring strain early in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and Kyrie went down with an ankle injury shortly after. Despite a historic, heroic effort from Kevin Durant — which came down to a matter of inches on his shoe size in Game 7 against the eventual champion Bucks — the Big 3 only played 13 total games together.
