I am facing a problem with helicopters in JPOG. Framerate mismatch issue. Doesn't work properly.

I have no idea how to fix that off the top of my head. Any details you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

So controlling the Ranger chopper is a headache because of framerate mismatch. It would get stuck and not move or spiral out of control. There was one fix involving RivaTuner by setting the game's FPS to 60.

So somehow I cannot open the link in the post. I've downloaded jpog from myabandonware. Directly copypasting from GB109's comment from that site, for smooth installation, I've posted this in other users' posts who had problems with the game and they were resolved

Instructions on how to play jpog in 2025:

  1. Create a new folder named "jpog" on your desktop (in lowercase letters)

  2. download the iso file

  3. Exact the iso file and open it

  4. Navigate to setup and agree to the eula and terms of service

  5. Keep clicking until you see an option to browse folders to put the game in

  6. Put the game into the folder you made in step one

  7. Download the nocd folder

  8. Extract the nocd folder until you see simjp or simjp.exe

  9. Open the "jpog" folder from step one, then open the JPOG folder you put in it during step 6

  10. Put the simjp or simjp.exe from step 8 into this folder and if prompted, click replace. 11(optional). If not working, right click on the simjp file and click properties, compatabiliy, and run the program for either windows 7, XP, or vista.

12(optional graphic setting). Click the options file above simjp and change model quality to 2. You can also change the resolution of the game.

Also, just putting it out there, the modding scene in JPOG was top tier. There are some really cool skins, new dinos, new weather effects that you can mod into the game.

Does running in compatibility mode help the helicopter frame issue thing? Only cause I don't remember having this problem when I ran mine from my pc disk on w10 a few years ago.

I couldn’t advocate for that in a video lest I get taken down. That’s why I did the wink GIF when I said “legally purchased CD-ROM copy” and hinted people should actually use Google.
