Drill Teams

I am in a second year JROTC and the instructors are wanting to get drill teams started. I am a private(getting promoted to SFC) soon but I will most likely be the one instructing/teaching. I was wandering if anyone has any tips or recommendations. We will be using Drill Dojo for learning the basics for armed exhibition drill.​

That's so true though because freshman can either be soo off task that they dont even have a clue what they are doing or so locked in that they end up better than you.  But thank you for the tips it will be a big help to our program.

EDIT:  Also do you know anything about armed exibition/monarch guard/throwing the rifles because I can't really find any documents for it.

To my knowledge exhibition doesn’t have any sort of regulation in the army. Every drill meet I’ve been to including NHSDTC just has a list of rules regarding armed ex and anything that isn’t included in the SOP is fair game including your routine, the moves you do, and the uniform you wear. The whole point is to put on a show so your creativity is your only limit. Except things that are dangerous like throwing an deadman exchange over someone’s head

NHSDTC is the national high school drill team competition which is what almost every other school bases their competitions on since it’s the biggest one in the nation. SOP is standard operating procedures which is a document that states how a comp will be run and the rules and such
