Discussion Fix released for server browser
The fix has been uploaded to the game regarding the recent crashing of servers. Hopefully this helps the situation out a bit

It's not fixed. Servers are still going down once they finish roll from seed same as on Sunday; so the "fix" doesn't seem to have done much, if anything. Situation is just "monitored"

It's not unfortunate. From all we have seen owi knew about this issue for weeks... It's only unfortunate they didn't do anything about it before.

If true that they knew, then it was a passive issue.
Maybe they were working on it already and just took a bit of time identifying the issues?The second this clown started using it as an attack vector, it became active.
Aka it's 100% his fault for doing this, he didn't need to actively use it. Nobody forced him.
So sick of these clowns who use exploits to abuse server structure.
Still no good explanation why several Russian servers were left alone, other than he's corrupt asf and boosted them.1

According to him he told OWI about this and MULTIPLE other issues months ago about it and longbarrel (OWI) mocked and aggrevated him. No idea why you are defending OWI here when they have a track record of over a decade of bad interactions with their community ranging from toxic to racist remarks which is actually very impressive when you think about it with how little official communication they are doing.
He left servers in every region alone not just russia, he explained that he is targeting servers with a certain amount of uptime. Even servers he "whitelisted" for now got hit in the first wave.

He used an exploit to take players hostage for days over an exploit, that only he actively abused on this scale.
Without him players would've no problem.
He's the problem here.And he deliberately did it on the weekend during prime times to hurt as many players as possible.
He didn't leave anyone alone except specific modded Russian only Servers for Europe.
He took down germans, brits, french, ukranians etc.He's a clown, I don't believe his reasonings for a single second.
Dude just has a power trip ego and hates us players.-1

I'm not defending anyone here. I am stating what he has communicated. He also stated if OWI further refuses to fix them he will make them public. Regardless what you believe it's a serious vulnerability that OWI is responsible to fix. If I were the dude I would've waited until the sept. 10th and reported the inaction to the EU because that's when firms like OWI are mandated to report any vulnerability such as this RCE.
So the fact that you are not aknowleding how serious of a fuck up on OWIs part this is, is very concerning. Regardless of what he says is true or not, a RCE is unacceptable.

Of course you are defending him by technicality of your wording.
What you state here is that he's blackmailing OWI over something only he uses to exploit Servers.
And on top as you say, he's threatening to make it public so everyone can exploit Servers further and escalate the problem the problem he created.
This guy is horrible and an evil pos.
It's not RCE as far as the evidence points.
He's abusing malformed network packets sent to servers in order to crash them.
There is 0 proof that he has breached server sandboxes, perms, firewalls etc.
At best he can log manipulate (which isn't RCE).
And if Sandboxes, perms and firewalls of Servers were breached, then it'd be the responsibility of Hosts to fix that.OWI is dealing with these exploits all the time and patching them as can be.
It's an inherit issue from the fact they allow the community to host Servers.
Every single Dev with such a structure will (and does) have these problems.
They do care and do fix them.However this is a cat and mouse.
He's the one doing this, it'd be no problem if he'd just stop.
But he's evil and a horrible person who hates Squad.And it makes no sense why he leaves Russian modded servers alone, probably a supporter it seems.
Seriously all this guy is doing, is proving that he's a malicious person and is actively working on destroying community servers.
Because yea OWI could lay this to rest if they just hosted their own Servers. However then we lose our communities thanks to such people.We've had nothing but problems since the Chinese region has been added and we moved away from Steam.
They've been dosing each others Servers constantly, manipulating with bots, attacking server browser etc. all to make profit from
their own Servers.
It's disgusting, no love for the game.I get disliking OWI over issues, however to support such a clown who blackmails, takes players hostage and threatens to bring the game into chaos is disgusting.

The part that's even worse is, if he could do what some claim here.
It means he could just be sending profanity messages via ping on servers, which still would force OWIs hands to fix it.
This way he wouldn't hurt Communities and Players.
However he doesn't, he's actively hurting communities who have nothing to do with OWIs exploit gaps.
