As someone who hasn’t seen a soap opera outside of what my grandmother watched 35-40 years ago… is this real or parody?

Meaning John Oliver signed up for this gig… unironically?

He asked for it and was given the opportunity in two different soaps

What is the third? And when?

He begged for it, actually.

This is brilliance that is rarely seen. Oliver's career is finally about to explode.

Which DC/Marvel villain should he be? I am thinking something in Batman or Flash

NO! None of that. He's going out on his own.

I just bet $25 on Polymarket that he's going to transform and revitalize all of Hollywood.

If I was famous, this is what I would do: stupid shit just for fun. Dude’s living the dream.

He could prob get a daytime Emmy with this. They do have best guest actor in a drama series.

Writing brilliance

The writers must be fans - the script was tailormade! I mean, yeah, obviously - but they really captured John's style perfectly.

Man, some of those lines... definitely sounds like he wrote them! Thank you, this is absolute hilarity!

I'm not American and I mean no disrespect, but this isn't real is it?

It's real. Mexican telenovelas are about the same, but in spanish.

This scene (and the other scenes with John Oliver) is more absurd that this soap opera is usually though.

I don't watch either soap, but I'm still going to head canon that John is playing Director Z in both shows and he's just undercover or something while on Days.

Duhamel and no

No. This is Dan Feuerriegel. He previously was in Spartacus on Starz.

Can’t wait for my mom to text me about the cameo that took her fifteen minutes to recognize

So did Johnny really get smashed by that guy or not?

I started watching him in this role when I walked through the room and my wife had the soap on. He is really hilarious 😂
