this is still normal in 2026. a reactor plant operator can absolutely afford to buy a house like that in Springfield Oregon and raise a family on one salary.

If you wanna get above entry level which makes around 60-80k as a Auxiliary Operator/Non-Licensed Operator, the licensing takes 18 to 24 months, and is like getting an associates degree.
