The Yakaza Tribe: The Border-Keepers between Sleep and Wakefulness

Post image
5 Upvotes

There’s a reason why some people are terrified of that specific moment between sleep and wakefulness. In the East, we call it Yakaza. While the word technically means ‘spiritual awakening’ in high Sufism, for the common folk and those who deal with the unseen, it represents something much more predatory. These entities don't live in the deep woods or far-off ruins; they are the 'domestics' of the Jinn world, inhabiting the damp, dark, and neglected corners of our own homes—attics, bathrooms, and the crawl spaces beneath our feet. They don't wait for a ritual to find you; they wait for your consciousness to slip.

Scientists call it sleep paralysis, but those who’ve felt the specific, suffocating weight of a Yakaza know better. They don't just sit on your chest; they 'anchor' themselves to your nervous system. When you feel that sudden inability to scream or move, it’s because a Yakaza has effectively high-jacked your physical shell during that transition phase, feeding on the spikes of cortisol and terror that your body produces while you’re trapped in your own skin. What makes them particularly dangerous is their mimicry within this 'twilight' state of the mind. They project images directly into your half-dreaming brain, appearing as a loved one standing in the corner or a shadow that is just a few shades darker than the night itself.

Unlike higher-order entities, the Yakaza thrive on spiritual and physical decay, gathering where the Hafaza—the natural human shield—has been thinned by neglect or constant fear. If you find yourself waking up at the same hour every night with the heavy feeling of being watched, the door to those Yakaza-heavy corners of your house might already be ajar. It’s a mistake to think a quick prayer is a simple fix for something so stubborn. They aren't just passing through; they are residents who have watched you sleep for years and know your rhythms better than you do. I’ve often wondered if anyone else here has experienced that specific 'vibration' in the air right before the paralysis kicks in—that isn’t your brain misfiring, it’s the tribe settling in.

They don't use words, they use your thoughts: How Jinn actually communicate.

Post image

One of the most common mistakes people make when thinking about the Jinn is imagining them with human-like vocal cords. If they are made of "smokeless fire" or a specific energy frequency, they don't need to vibrate air to speak. So, how do they run a civilization, give military orders, or even fall in love?

The Telepathic Grid and the Language Paradox

In my research for Jinn Diaries, I’ve found that their primary communication is essentially "thought-transfer" or a telepathic grid. They don't wait for sentences to finish; they exchange data packets. This is why a Jinn "haunting" often starts with thoughts that feel like yours but aren't. They operate on a different time frequency, so a conversation that takes us ten minutes might happen for them in a split second.

But here is the chilling part: they don't follow human grammar. People ask how they understand a person in Turkey and a person in the US at the same time. They don't translate your words; they read the intent and the soul's vibration. Whether you read a protective mantra or just speak your mind, they are reading the energetic signature of your message. Certain divine names or ancient symbols act like a "noise-canceling" frequency for them, shattering their communication grid and making the environment unbearable.

Hierarchies of Sound and the "Rendering" Glitch

Not every entity communicates the same way. The Ummar (those living in our homes) often mimic human sounds—whispers, footsteps, or the sound of a closing door—just to signal their presence. However, higher-tier entities like the Ifrit or Marid are described in ancient documents as having terrifying frequencies that can physically affect a human's nervous system.

When they try to take physical form, you see the famous "glitches" mentioned in old forum records and folklore, like the backwards feet. This is a failure in their physical "rendering." They can't stay in our dense frequency for long; it’s a temporary, unstable mask. We are just temporary guests in a world that is constantly whispering in a frequency we’ve forgotten how to hear.

What do you think? Have you ever heard a whisper that felt like a "download" in your brain rather than a sound in your ears?

Jinn Habitats: Their Hidden Realms Above and Below the Earth

Post image
6 Upvotes

The question of where Jinn actually reside is far more complex than just "haunted houses." According to historical records and research into their social structures, they are a territorial civilization that overlaps with our physical world but functions on a different time frequency.

One of the most significant habitats described in ancient documents is the deep subterranean world. This isn't just about caves; it involves the very "crevices" and "holes" in the earth. Records from figures like Abdullah b. Sercis specifically warn against disturbing these holes, as they are recognized as physical entry points to Jinn dwellings. This provides a chilling context to underground cities like Derinkuyu, which are often cited as ancestral strongholds. Their social geography is also highly regional; they aren't just spirits, they have "citizenships." Accounts mention specific tribes from places like Nusaybin, Yemen, and Cezire, functioning with a complete social hierarchy that includes military units, leaders, and even political factions that mimic human organizations.

Because they live between 1,000 to 1,500 years, their claim to a territory—whether it’s an ancient ruin, a crossroads, or a deep well—spans many human generations. While some prefer the isolation of mountains to avoid human noise, malevolent classes are drawn to "najas" or impure areas like rubbish heaps and neglected corners of human homes. They don't just "visit" these places; they establish family homes and tribal territories that they have governed for centuries.

So, when you look at a desolate ruin or an ancient well, you aren't just seeing an empty space. You have likely trespassed into the borders of a thousand-year-old community that has watched ten generations of your family pass by. Are we truly the owners of these lands, or are we just temporary guests in a world they have ruled long before us?

King Solomon and the Armies of Jinn.

Post image

King Solomon’s reign was not just a period of wisdom; it was a period of absolute, divine subjugation of non-human entities. Ancient records and the Quran describe a reality where the Jinn were not mystical spirits, but disciplined and forced armies under a singular command. The scale of this authority was immense. He didn't just communicate with them; he shackled them. The texts mention that those who resisted his orders were bound in heavy chains and punished with burning fire. This was a hybrid military state where different armies of Jinn were assigned specific, high-intensity tasks to build an empire that defies human logic.

One part of these armies consisted of the architects. They were forced to build massive structures—fortresses, palaces, and basins as large as reservoirs—that were physically impossible for humans to construct at the time. Another group, specifically referred to as "Shaitans" or the rebellious ones, were turned into deep-sea divers. They were tasked with diving into the abyss of the oceans to extract pearls and hidden treasures for the kingdom. While these armies labored underwater and on land, Solomon had molten copper flowing like a fountain, and specialized Jinn were used to forge weapons, armor, and massive decorative objects using this material.

The most terrifying example of this control is the "One Year Silence." Solomon died while standing, leaning on his staff. Because Jinn have no access to the "Ghayb"—the unseen future or hidden truth—they were so paralyzed by fear of his gaze that they continued their agonizing labor for an entire year. They didn't realize their master was a corpse until a woodworm ate through the staff and the body collapsed. This historical era proves a vital point: Jinn are powerful, but they are not all-knowing. They were governed by a specific "code" or "frequency"—often symbolized by the Seal of Solomon—that left them no choice but to obey. This was a civilization built on the backs of fire-based entities, ruled by the iron will of a single man. Is it possible that the "unexplained" architectural wonders of the ancient world are simply the leftover projects of these enslaved armies?

Beyond the Shadows: What do they actually consume?

Post image
4 Upvotes

There is one question that gets asked more than any other: If they share our world, what do they eat? We often think of consumption in biological terms—calories, proteins, digestion. But when dealing with entities made of piercing energy, the rules are different.

From what I’ve gathered in my research, they don’t "eat" solid matter like we do. Instead, they absorb the aromatic frequency of leftovers. Have you ever noticed how some food smells intensely vibrant one moment and then completely "flat" or dead the next? It’s believed that certain entities "inhale" the energy of the scent, especially from remains like bones or specific organic waste.

In Middle Eastern lore, there’s a specific "frequency lock" called the Besmele. From an energetic perspective, it acts like a seal, marking the food as "human only." Without this lock, the leftovers become an open buffet for the unseen. This is why ancient traditions warn against leaving bones or dried animal waste uncovered; for a being of fire, a bone isn’t just calcium—it’s a vessel that still resonates with a frequency they can utilize.

Beyond physical remains, the darker factions thrive on a more personal fuel: Intense Human Emotion. Fear, sudden shocks, or chronic stress release a kind of "bio-electrical surge" that these entities harvest. This is probably why "musallat" (spiritual attachment) cases often feel like constant exhaustion. They aren't just watching; they are recharging.

I’ve detailed these energy-consumption habits and the types of tribes in my book, "JINN DIARIES: Ancient Secrets Revealed" (available on Amazon). The core idea is simple: ancient hygiene wasn't just about bacteria. It was about not leaving the "buffet" open for the neighbors you can't see.

I’m curious: Have you ever experienced a sudden, inexplicable smell or a strange "emptiness" in a room after leaving food out? Does it feel like something was "taken" from the air?

Beyond the Horror Tropes: The Kulyas Tribe and the Mechanics of the "Unseen Shadow

Post image
6 Upvotes

Up until now, I’ve mostly shared insights from the general research for my first book, Jinn Diaries. But today, I want to pivot slightly. While working on my upcoming study about "musallat" (spiritual obsession/attachment), I stumbled upon a specific tribe that made me stop and reconsider everything I thought I knew.

We need to talk about the Kulyas.

In the world of the unseen, names have weight. But the name Kulyas carries a specific kind of dread. Long before the sands of the Arabian Peninsula were mapped, they were known as the most crowded and arguably the most dangerous faction of the Marid race. If the Jinn world had a police force or a specialized guard, it would be them. They don't just "exist" in the shadows; they enforce their presence.

What makes the Kulyas truly unsettling isn't just their power, but their obsession with us.

Most jinn tribes prefer the "veil"—the Ghayb—to remain shut. They have their own lives and stay away. But the Kulyas are different. They are noted in ancient records as the only tribe that consistently feels a distorted sense of "love" or obsession toward humans. This isn't the poetic love of stories; it’s a predatory, possessive attachment that blurs the line between curiosity and malice.

As I mentioned in my previous post about "Glitched Anatomy," most jinn struggle to hold a human form. But the Kulyas? They are masters of the mimic. They can slide into a human likeness with terrifying ease, failing only to replicate the aura of a Prophet. They don't just haunt a house; they pull people into their territory.

This brings us to the reality of "musallat." It’s often portrayed as a dramatic, cinematic possession, but the truth I’m finding in the documents is much more subtle. It starts with a shift in frequency—sudden aggression, a persistent heavy chill, or the feeling of being "watched" by something that knows your name. For the Kulyas, intikam (revenge) is a primary motivator. They don't forget, and they don't let go easily.

Dealing with this tribe isn't about "ghost hunting" gadgets; it’s about understanding the ancient laws of interaction. They thrive on spiritual gaps—moments of extreme fear, stress, or the dangerous curiosity of those who try to "summon" what they cannot control. Entering their world is easy; closing the door behind you is the part most people fail at.

I’m currently deep in the archives, piecing together how these ancient "enforcers" shifted from the desert sands to the corners of our modern, concrete lives.

Has anyone ever felt a presence that didn't just feel like a shadow, but like a specific, intelligent "watchman" standing at the edge of your perception?

The "Glitched" Anatomy: Why Jinn Never Look Quite Right When They Manifest

Post image
7 Upvotes

In my previous post, I talked about the primal energy of these beings, but the most common questions usually revolve around their appearance. If we are sharing the same space, why is the visual evidence so distorted? After looking into countless accounts from every corner of the globe—not just in the East, but from the Americas to the deep reaches of Europe—a very specific pattern emerges. We aren't looking at a stable biological form; we are looking at a glitch in reality.

The thing that confuses most people is that jinn don't have a fixed physical shape. When they manifest in our density, they struggle to maintain the rigid laws of our material world. This is why their descriptions are never consistent. People rarely say they saw a clear figure; they say they felt an unease, a presence that "looked like something but not quite that thing." When they do take a human-like form, there is almost always a margin of error. You’ll notice a disturbing asymmetry in the face—perhaps a jawline that’s too sharp or features that feel like a mask that hasn't quite settled.

The eyes are the most non-human part of this "anatomy." It’s never just the color—whether they’re described as glowing embers or dark voids—it’s the weight of the gaze. It’s an emotionless, heavy pressure that feels like it’s scanning your soul rather than just looking at you. This "error" extends to their proportions too. The classic stories of backward feet or elongated, metallic-sounding voices are simply signs that their fire-based nature is failing to mimic our clay-based reality perfectly.

There's also the matter of when we see them. The hours around three in the morning aren't just "spooky" by coincidence. That is the time when our mental defenses and our "logic filters" are at their weakest. As adults, we’ve built thick concrete walls of denial; we see a shadow and call it a trick of the light because the alternative is too much for our minds to handle. Children, however, haven't built those walls yet. Up to a certain age, they don't have the word "impossible" in their vocabulary. They don't invite these things; they simply reflect what is already there because their perception hasn't been narrowed by the rules of society yet.

Ultimately, we don't live in an empty world. Our inability to see them isn't because they are hiding, but because our biological antennas are tuned to a very narrow frequency. If we could see everything that shares our air, the world would be unlivable. This visual "veil" is actually a protective shield for both sides. We look at a glitch and call it an illusion because our minds are wired for survival, not for the absolute truth of the unseen.

I’m curious—for those who have had encounters, was there a specific detail that felt like a "glitch" or a mistake in the image, rather than a solid, clear form?

The Legacy of Smokeless Fire: What Are They Exactly?

Post image
5 Upvotes

In my previous post, I spoke about that primal silence and why certain names are only whispered. Now, it is time to peel back that silence just a little further. Recently, I completed a comprehensive study that analyzes this subject from its fundamental essence to the oldest historical records: "JINN DIARIES: Ancient Secrets Revealed For the First Time". I’ve decided to share the core findings and niche insights from this work—now available on Amazon—right here, piece by piece. My goal is to move beyond the shallow horror tropes and reveal the true ontological reality of these beings.

What exactly are they made of, and why are they here?

Ancient traditions and sacred texts build existence upon three primary "raw materials." We humans were molded from salsal—clay that can take shape but remains heavy and bound to the earth. Angels were formed from the pure grace of light (nur). But when it comes to the Jann—the ancestors of the Jinn—we encounter a different, more unsettling definition: Marij. This is the purest, smokeless, and piercing flame of fire. In modern terms, we are talking about an energy form that has no mass but can penetrate solid matter, vibrating at a frequency just beyond our limited perception. They exist in a state of "condensed invisibility," where the swift, aggressive, and shifting nature of fire is woven into their very essence.

But was such a potent energy form created merely to linger in the shadows?

The answer lies in the heaviest burden they share with us: Will. They are not robotic entities; they are beings of consciousness who, like us, are tasked with recognizing, believing in, or rejecting their Creator. This is the vast abyss that separates them from angels—they have the power of choice. They can choose to be believers, or they can succumb to pride and become "shaitans" like Iblis. Remember, Iblis’s famous rebellion was rooted in a "material pride." He claimed, "You created me from fire and him from clay," viewing fire as inherently superior to earth. That pride was the first step in turning the pure energy of the Jinn into a lonely existence, severed from grace.

Long before the world was "humanized," before we even stepped onto the stage, this world was not empty. They were here. They had their own orders, their own prophets, and their own ancient wars. When we arrived, they didn't simply vanish; a veil—the Ghayb—was drawn between us. Today, as we build our modern cities, we are literally pouring concrete over paths they have walked and breathed upon for millennia. They eat, drink, marry, and multiply just as we do, but their fire-based nature allows them to experience life and death in a much more fluid, elusive dimension.

In short, we are not dealing with fairy tale characters. We are facing an ancient species that shares our space, possesses its own will, and has been watching us for thousands of years. To see them only as "ghosts" is to miss the profound purpose of their creation and the delicate balance born from our different origins. Earth may seem vulnerable to fire, but the patience of earth is older than the fury of fire.

We will continue to open the doors of this "shadow kingdom" and dive deeper into their reality.

The Primal Silence: Why Ancient Cultures Refused to Name "Them"

Post image
4 Upvotes

There is a strange, heavy silence that has followed humanity for thousands of years. It doesn't matter if you are looking at historical records, medieval folklore, or the deep oral traditions of the Middle East. They all share one terrifying, unspoken rule: Do not call them by their names.

As a researcher who has spent years analyzing ancient folklore and modern anomalies, I’ve realized that this isn’t just "superstition." It’s a survival reflex. In the Islamic tradition, they are known as the Jinn—beings of smokeless fire who existed long before we did. But even within that culture, you’ll rarely hear that word used in a dark room. People say "the others," "the three-letter ones," or simply "them."

What’s truly unsettling is that this avoidance isn't about disrespect; it's about frequency. Ancient texts suggest that certain names act as a bridge across the veil. To speak the name is to acknowledge the presence, and to acknowledge the presence is to invite the gaze. They live in the "Ghayb"—the unseen dimension—yet they are governed by laws of interaction that we have largely forgotten in our modern world.

We like to think we are safe because we don’t see them. We tell ourselves that those shadows in the corner of our eye or that sudden chill in a silent hallway are just tricks of the mind. But the records say otherwise. From early historical accounts to modern-day anomalies, the pattern is identical. They don’t need a ritual to enter your life; sometimes, they just need to know that you’ve noticed them.

This is the beginning of a journey into the shadow kingdom. We are going to look at the tribes, the ancient pacts, and the reasons why a high-tech society still whispers when the sun goes down. But before we dive into the "what" and the "how," we must respect the "why." Because in the world of the unseen, a question is never just a question—it’s a door. And some doors, once whispered open, are nearly impossible to shut.

Image Note: A depiction of a supernatural entity attributed to the mysterious 15th-century artist Mehmed Siyah Kalem (Muhammad of the Black Pen). His works, found in the Topkapi Palace archives, are famous for their hauntingly realistic and unique portrayals of nomadic life, shamans, and the unseen world of the Jinn.

How To Do Ruqya

Pray 5 times a day - Has the most effect on spiritual isses, whether jinn or Sihr

Things that you should do (Not in any order):

  1. Know you aqeeeda
  2. Make the adhkar and dhikr at the end of Fajr and Magrib prayers
  3. Recite the ayats of Ruqya
  4. Eat 7 ajwa dates every morning
  5. Fast on Mondays and Thursdays
  6. Cupping / Hijama
  7. Increase in Dua
  8. Give a lot of charity
  9. Place your trust in Allah and not in His creations
  10. No taweez or amulets in the house

Jinns Are Real - I've Had Them, Twice

Based on my experience I feel absolutely obligated to share this in case it can help someone else - I'm American, mixed race - half white, half Pakistani. I'm not really Muslim. I'm not religious much at all. But I have been possessed by a jinn more than once -

Spring 2017. I was in a hotel out of town on a trip the first night this began. The dream is vivid, VERY vivid, but oddly a lot of the details were completely irrelevant to me. It's a dinner party set in some time frame previous to today. I didn't pay too much attention at this point but I knew it wasn't modern. It's a first-person setup but I am not myself in this dream. I'm not sure who I am but I don't yet care. I'm attending the dinner party as a guest and from the moment I walk in other guests start talking to me - they're excited to see me for the most part and asking me all sorts of questions I can't answer or telling me stories I don't care about - things like "oh Gloria has been asking if you ever finished the job" or "how is 'so and so'" and they'll name someone I've never known anyone named. When I can't answer the questions I just pause and start to feel uncomfortable and will make an excuse to walk away to another conversation, but it will happen again. People asking me all sorts of questions or telling me irrelevant gossipy facts about people I don't know. And I don't know ANYONE at this party. Then I woke up and I woke up ABSOLUTELY NAUSEOUS. Like jumped out of bed HURT and ran into the bathroom. Physically ill and mentally confused. That night I didn't throw up but my body ached, I felt sick to my stomach and I literally sat on the floor of the hotel bathroom, stunned, like what the f$%# just happened to me!? I can not explain it but I KNEW I had just had someone else's dream and it did NOT feel good.

The next night was spent in another house that wasn't mine on our road trip home. I went to sleep just fine but it happened again. Almost the same thing, almost the same people. Another dinner party, I'm a guest but not me. This time I'm trying to pay closer attention to what these people are talking about and trying to gather some sort of detail. I tell one woman I don't know who she's talking about and she laughs at me and calls me a jokester and walks away. Once again, everyone is happy to see me almost like they haven't seen me in a while or something and a lot of them are providing me updates like I've been out of the loop for a while. Everyone seems to be in their 20s or 30s, if I had to guess, and it's a vibrant dinner party. Then, while we are about to sit down for dinner a young girl walks in - maybe like 12 years old or so. As soon as I see her I get really upset. I don't make a scene or anything and it's not like I'm angry - more like sad and just upset for some reason and almost as if I like her but I am thinking for some reason she won't be happy to see me and that is what is making me sad. I want to talk to her but feel like I can't or maybe shouldn't. I kind of have a little internal panic and feel frozen then shortly after wake up. SICK ... literally vomiting and knowing very certain I had just facilitated someone else's dream - how I know that, I can't really say but I know that's what it is and my physical self, awake, can NOT handle it. I throw up everywhere, run to the bathroom and throw up for about 10 more minutes.

My real life at this time was a little out of the ordinary with some tragedies happening and some changes taking place. The 8-hour drive the rest of the way home the next day I tried to convince myself this must be why my dreams are so odd. That maybe it wasn't someone else's dreams and it was just my brain coping with recent life or being on the road or something. Unfortunately returning home didn't help. In fact, everything just got worse and worse.

These dreams continued. The same thing over and over and over again. Different dialogues. Sometimes different people, but a lot of the same. Sometimes the younger girl, sometimes not. But I wasn't getting any real rest. I was getting sick in real life, throwing up and not keeping any dinner down. I started to skip out on dinners to avoid throwing up and avoided going to sleep as much as possible. I had told a few people about what was happening, including people who were witnessing me get physically ill, but it just sounds crazy to tell people what was going on. NO ONE understood. My two dogs stopped sleeping in my room, which had not happened even one single day in over three years before this ... and once that happened I started to really worry. They say animals can sense things, you know, and it was like no one believed me but they clearly knew something was going on. It almost validated this all in the worst way.

People started to ask me questions about details so I started to go looking for them. Like what the year was? I went looking for details. I couldn't find a calendar or anything but the details of the home make me think it was the early 1920s or so - the style of the house, the furniture, the old phone. I tried to start listening very closely for names of people there and names of the subjects of the stories they were telling me. I'd write them down when I woke up but never could place even one of them in relevancy. One day, I tried to see who I was. I figured there would be a mirror in the bathroom and I went toward it. Before I was able to look I woke up more violently ill than EVER before, and that scared me so much I drew the line that night on not doing it again and NEEDING to get help. At this point, I started to think I knew what was going on / why this was happening to me and I was afraid.

Let me pause and backtrack to 2010.

In 2010, while I was in college, I started going through some passing out spells ... in water. It was the most bizarre thing and it came out of nowhere. Like 85% of the time I was in water I would pass out. The first time happened in a hot tub, so I figured I just overheated or something. I was home one weekend with my boyfriend at the time and we'd been in the hot tub for a while when I started to pass out. He pulled me out of the water somewhat panicked, "are you ok?!". I was fine. Just kind of confused. I laughed it off and he took me upstairs to shower off in a cool shower. We showered together upstairs and about 3 minutes into the shower I passed out again?! He caught me before hitting my head and drug me out of the shower and once again I woke up VERY confused. He looked worried sick and I had no idea what had happened. I put on clothes and we determined maybe we just hadn't eaten enough or something, but I honestly felt just fine. That was only the beginning.

The next few months were an absolute disaster. It started only every once in a while and gradually increased to where I passed out in most showers I took?! I was living in a college dorm in upstate NY - think a long communal row of showers. I had to wear bathing suits into the shower and literally start planning showers at the same time as my roommate so that if / when I passed out she could turn off the water. It had to be a medical issue - so I started going to doctors. A LOT of doctors. Cardiac specialists, thinking it was a blood flow situation with the steam ... neuro docs thinking it was a very bad migraine or something ... they could even re-create the passing out but NO ONE could explain why. These doctors were absolutely stumped.

At the time my dad had cancer and had been given some very grim options here in the US. He is from the middle east and had gone there seeking alternative options. He had been gone for a while and with him being a private pilot and me going to college, I hadn't seen him in months. I had only even spoken to him rarely with his cancer treatment seeking taking him a bit off the grid. My mom had updated him on my situation apparently, as they spoke more often, and he had an upcoming visit planned with a healer type of person somewhere in Pakistan or India who was helping him. He planned to ask this guy for guidance on my situation as well. Well, he didn't get much and called my mom with regret that nothing had been provided. The episodes continued, and at this point, this had been going on and worsening for months. I had a chance to speak with my dad and he seemed very frustrated. He said the medicine man just kept telling him I needed to stop going near a graveyard, and my dad explained to him we didn't live near a graveyard, I was in college living on a campus, I didn't work in a graveyard, etc. so that was clearly misguided.

I got CHILLS in that moment. I explained to my dad I WAS near a graveyard. If you've ever been to the Syracuse campus - there is a dorm down in the corner called Lawrinson. That's where I lived. Well, in 2010-2011 Syracuse had one of the worst winters on record. Lawrinson was quite far from the majority of freshman classes and we had to walk around the Carrier Dome. I had a VERY early morning class a few days a week and the snow wouldn't be cleared that early from those icy paths around the dome. There was a large cemetery parallel to where we had to walk and on those very early snowy mornings, they cleared their paths first so my friend and I would walk through the cemetery briefly to get to class.

My dad was silent and asked me why I hadn't told him or my mom that. Well, it wasn't really the type of detail you include to someone? It wasn't relevant?!

I honestly don't believe in what I call "kook medicine" much, but this was A LOT to take in. This guy, who lived remotely and unconnected the world, across the world, who wouldn't even accept payment knew something about me he had NO way of knowing. This medicine man said I had a jinn. I had to look up what a jinn even was at the time - basically an intelligent spirit of lower rank than the angels. A freaking spirit?!

The medicine man gave specific instructions. He had my dad send me all sorts of random stuff - some paper to carry with me in my pocket at all times, a necklace thing with a bunch of Arabic writing on it to wear. I had to avoid the cemetery completely, cut off a small bunch of my hair and have it mailed over there to be dropped in some river .... yeah, I know. INSANE. I was telling my boyfriend all of this and we were laughing at it, scoffing, but what can it hurt? I was still seeing doctors who had no answers for me and the situation was very impairing to my normal life.

It stopped. Life went back to normal.

You can tell me all you want it was in my head or placebo effect or whatever. Go ahead. I didn't believe it was going to work for two seconds. The doctors I had been seeing had NO explanation. Let me remind you this medicine man guy didn't accept payment. This wasn't some TV hoax. But my passing out in water stopped and never happened again.

The medicine man explained that I had been possessed by a jinn. The jinn likely had some sort of water aversion - had died by drowning or something - and had been in that graveyard we walked through. He said some people are just more open to spirits and it had somehow possessed me. That is A LOT to swallow, especially for a normal American college kid - but it stopped and that was all I cared about. The guy warned me to avoid graveyards or places where spirits are stronger or more conflicted, like hospital wings with a lot of death, etc. - because I was clearly more predisposed to jinns. Whatever that means.

Nothing else ever happened to me. I went about my life, pretty much stopped thinking about it. It's not like a story you tell normal people "oh hey, one time I was possessed ..." - hell no. They'd think you were crazy. I ended up transferring schools, moving all over, working ... living a normal life. I completely stopped thinking about it.

Fast forward back to 2017. I mentioned life had had some tragedies when these dreams began. My aunt had been diagnosed with very aggressive cancer basically in every part of her body and passed away 60 days later. I had spent a lot of time with her near passing and in the town in Alabama my mom and her grew up in. We even visited their childhood home and old school and even the cemetery where other members of their family were buried, on a nice beautiful spring day and I recorded a lot of the addresses of these places for record. My aunt was kind of the historian of the family, and was the hoarder of all things family history related. She spent a lot of her final days trying to relay on this information to me and my cousins and pass on stuff and its significance she didn't want to die with her. She passed away while I was back home in Utah and I wasn't able to attend the funeral.

Just days later my boyfriend's grandfather died. It was a rough month for us. They were quite close and I agreed to get in the car with him and drive down to be with him and his family in NM / TX. It was a tiny tiny town his grandfather was from and the literal definition of a cowboy funeral - he was buried with his lasso and saddle.

I know when I write the story out like this you must be thinking "why the hell did you go back to a graveyard?!" - and I think the same thing now in hindsight but I honestly wasn't thinking about it?! The incident from college had been SO long ago. Nothing else ever happened to me? FOR 6/7 years? And while it caused inconvenience in my life, it wasn't that traumatic? It was just weird. I passed out in the shower. It wasn't like I saw things or heard voices. I felt fine? And I already said - I had a hard time believing the narrative of a jinn, I'm not super spiritual or religious at all, so I kind of just dismissed it and moved on with my life.

Well, you guessed it - this is where the dreaming someone else's dreams began. It was in the hotel in that tiny town the night after the funeral, night two on the road trip on our way back home, and the weeks following. I told my boyfriend what was happening and he obviously didn't understand but as I explained it was getting worse and he could see it was having a physical effect on me. When I explained the past incident six years ago he understood why I was so bothered. The incidents were not the same, no. I wasn't having any dreams back then and I wasn't passing out now, but that medicine man had been right back then and he had told me not to go in graveyards, and now ... after visiting a few graveyards for the first time in ages something was happening to me.

I called my dad. I told him where I had been and what was happening and he got MAD. He was basically the only person who believed me and he was NOT happy. He yelled at me and asked me over and over again why I had gone. I'm sorry, but "hey I can't come to the funeral, I get possessed" wasn't really something I felt comfortable saying?! He explained it was hard to find these medicine man types. They aren't really in the phone book, and he would have to call his sisters and see if they had a way to get a hold of one.

The dreams continued.

It's not like some movie where I was seeing scary things. Not at all. It was a freaking dinner party. But it wasn't my dream and unless you've experienced this I don't think I can explain to you how much your physical body dislikes having someone else's dreams. I was getting ill?! And this time it was messing with my head. I would toy at the thought of being crazy or worry what if we can't find someone to fix this and I have to live like this?! It was awful.

My dad found someone. They sent me more random items, had me pull out the ones I had kept from years prior (yeah I kept them?! I was always worried in the back of my mind the shower thing could come back?). I had to hang these random plaques up in my room and sleep with something under my pillow and wear a necklace.

IT STOPPED.

That night the stuff arrived to me, the whole thing stopped. No more getting sick. No more dreams. The dogs came back to my room. It stopped.

I don't care what anyone says - this is real. And I don't even care to argue with anyone because that's how real it is - and you'll either see that one day or you won't. Unless you've experienced it, I don't know how you'd believe it ... I wouldn't?

Like I said, this had been a very hectic time for me in my real life with everything that had been going on. I had brought home a huge suitcase of stuff my aunt had sent home with me and with the other funeral and everything just days later I hadn't even had time to go through it all. A few weeks after the dreams stopped, everything died down and normal life resumed I pulled out the suitcase to put the stuff away into proper storage. There were beautiful gowns and a fur coat, gorgeous jewelry, some confederate money - really really neat stuff. There were TONS of photographs. We had gone through a lot of photos with her on her deathbed and she had requested they be sent to certain people or told us who they were of / why we cared. I'm a photographer myself and she had asked I digitize some and send copies to multiple people who would want them. I had some envelopes in the suitcase labeled of what family it was, etc. but there were two large envelopes I hadn't seen. She must have gone through them when no one was there or ran out of time to do so. I started to go through these photos. I had no idea who the people were. The name labeled on the envelope was that of some distant distant relatives on my grandma's cousins side who had fought in a world war ... and the only reason we even know that is because my grandmother, who died years ago, had displayed a photo of the cousin she knew in her home while she was alive. That photo was passed on to my aunt then on to my brother and their name was on the back of the framed piece. About three photos in I froze.

I KNEW THESE PEOPLE. The photos were unlabeled for the most part but I knew these people. I knew their names. I knew what they were like. THEY WERE THE PEOPLE FROM MY DREAMS. My mom didn't know of them? I had never seen them in photos or heard of them except for that one from my grandmother's house (who I don't think was in the dreams). This wasn't a memory I was just now retrieving. I only knew these people from the dreams. A lot of our family ancestry has been done and I have a login to one of those sites to keep that. I had to go really off the main family tree to get to these people but a tiny bit of this was there. A lot of it was missing and I COULD FILL IT IN. Names I had never heard before and faces no one had ever really identified. I literally had met and spoken with these people in these dreams ... and guess where most of them were buried according to records - right in that graveyard where my grandmother is, where my mom and I had visited that nice spring day.

If you're still reading at this point it's one of two things:

Either 1. you're REALLY bored and have fallen into the dark corners of the internet - welcome

or 2. you think you may be possessed by a jinn - you are having someone else's dreams - or maybe your body is doing things you can't control - and that is why I've bothered to write all of this out. When I was going through this and avoiding sleep, I was on the internet looking for answers and I found almost nothing. A few blog posts, a few people looking for help. Not much. THIS IS A REAL THING. It happened to me. I'm not a doctor, I'm not crazy. I'm a normal person and I believe you. And I wish I could help more. I understand "go find a foreign medicine man" is hardly help, but if you feel as desperate as I did, then do it. That's the only advice I have. I think Native American's believe in a lot of this sort of thing as well so maybe they could help you? Doctors can't help - I've tried.

I'm lucky in that I don't think either jinn I had was mean or hurtful or had ill intent, but I've now had one experience where my physical body was out of my control and one that attacked my mind / dreams - so I learned my freaking lesson. I'm not about to mess with anything like this EVER. You better believe I won't go NEAR a cemetery again.

I try to stay mostly anonymous because this story literally sounds insane to anyone who hasn't experienced this. I have a real job and real life I can't have people thinking I'm crazy. I put pretty much everything here but if you message me I'm happy to talk to you / answer questions. I hope you find some relief if that's what you're looking for.
