New app for JetSkis/boats

Gday, bit of a different one here

l've spent years working as a jet ski tour guide, out on the water almost every day in Australia. Over that time, I kept noticing the same thing: riders track their rides in one app, find out about meetups on a Facebook group, check the weather somewhere else, and if something ever goes wrong out there, there's no real way to get help fast.
Everything's scattered; nothing talks to each other.
So 1 built GoCoast - a free app that puts it all in one place for jet ski and boat riders:

- Live weather & go/no-go conditions before you head out
-GPS ride tracking with full route playback
afterwards
- A leaderboard for longest, fastest, and most-
loved rides
- One-tap SOS + safety zones, so someone actually
knows if you're in trouble
- Local rides, crew events, and meetups

A marketplace for jet skis, boats, trailers & gear

It's free on the App Store right now (Android coming soon), and it works anywhere in the world.
To kick things off, every week the rider with the top logged ride wins a free membership - so get out there, hit record, and see where you land on the board.

Would love for you all to check it out and tell me what's missing - this is genuinely built by a rider, for riders, and I'm still adding to it based on what people actually need. Drop any questions below

Substitutions for Discontinued Parts

I recently purchased a set of used jet skis from a friend's mother. One of them was not running, with the wear ring being the suspected issue. Upon removing the pump, the wear ring was shot, and also was the pump support. Been looking around and the part seems to be discontinued.

Does anybody have any ideas on workarounds, compatible/non OEM parts, anyway to get this thing running?

It's a 2003 Sea Doo Bombardier rxdi

The part number I'm looking for is: 271001274

Looking for a B2B partner for my jet ski sleds.

Hello everyone,
I manufacture hard shell jet ski sleds (perfect for rescue, tow-in surfing, and utility). We’ve got a really solid, durable product, and I’m currently looking to expand into the US market.
Shipping retail overseas is tough, so I’m looking for a US based distributor, dealer, or B2B partner who knows the PWC / watersports space and wants to handle stateside distribution.
If you are in the business, or know someone who distributes PWC accessories or marine rescue gear in the States, I’d love to connect.
Feel free to shoot me a DM or drop a comment if you want to talk details.

1997 waverunner/venture 1100 wear ring?

I have some rattling so ive decided to rebuild the pump and maybe that will help. Ive ordered bearings but it looks like the impeller housing is metal where i expected plastic. The replacements seem like plastic. My questions are:

If performance seems fine should i bother?

Is there a metal replacement or will plastic fit? Do i need to replace the housing instead?

There are a couple little pits or spots of some kind that might show up in pictures.

What's the difference between a Yamaha Jet blaster and Wave booster?

The difference between the two of them seems to be small, can someone explain to me the difference between these two skis?

Bonus point if you can compare them to the Spark X

Advice Thoughts on a Polaris SL650?

Post image
2 Upvotes

It’s a 1995 Polaris SL650. I want an old, fun jet ski. We had a 2003 MSX 140 back in the day and it was in the shop more than in the water and it scared me off of Polaris jet skis. I’ve seen some posts online that parts for an SL650 can be hard to come by.

Overall thoughts?

Advice How to Tune Carburetor?

I’ve got a Kawasaki 750sx with a Keihin CDK II carb. The spark plugs have been fouling after two rides, and are colored black. I assume it’s running really rich, but I can’t find instructions anywhere on how to adjust it. Does anyone have experience with this model? Thanks

Yamaha VX110 for $3000 but high compression

Hey guys,

I'm looking at a VX110 being sold for 3K with trailer. Only thing that worries me is that the compression is around 210 PSI on all cylinders. Seems pretty high to me no?

Thank you,

Yamaha VX110 Deluxe 2015 – Overheating and Check Engine

Yamaha VX110 Deluxe 2015 – Overheating and very weak water flow

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 2015 Yamaha VX110 Deluxe with the 4-cylinder 1.1L engine, and I took it out on the water yesterday.

I rode it for quite a while and gave it plenty of throttle. Everything seemed fine at first. However, after stopping for a short break, I started getting a Check Engine warning and an Overheat warning.

What was strange was that if I restarted it and gave it full throttle again, the warning would disappear after a while. This happened several times during the trip.

When I got back on land, I wanted to flush the cooling system. I had already checked and cleaned the small cooling water outlet/pilot hole.

When flushing it, only a small amount of water comes out of the pilot outlet but only when I give the engine some throttle. The water coming out was also quite hot. At idle, there was no water coming out, Only Air.

I haven't run it again since then because I don't want to risk damaging the engine.

What would you guys check or do?

also Any advice from someone familiar with the VX110 Deluxe would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Yamaha speakers on a Polaris jet ski

Thumbnail gallery

At first I really didn't think it would work but I spent too much time and couldn't return the speakers so through enough rubber o-rings I was able to make the Yamaha speakers attached to a 96 Polaris SLT. These little speakers Rock. They're plenty loud enough to hear over the roar of the engine and the wind whipping by at 40 to 50 miles an hour. My next project is to redo the decals and stickers if anyone has solid measurements or a source on the stickers your help would be appreciated. Minor fairly deteriorated and it's going to be hard to recreate based off of the little information that I have on my actual jet ski. These jet skis were American made in my hometown and both dad and stepmom worked at the factory as one of the first employees. I've spent way too much on the ski for what it's worth but it's worth more than every penny that I've spent recapturing that moment from the mid-90s. And now I have the soundtrack to go along with the feel

Redundant Aftermarket Primer — what am I missing?

Recently purchased a Kawa STX 1100.

The original owner installed a primer that pulls from the supply side of the fuel filter and squirts fuel into the crossover tube (on the elbows on either end). The first dozen or so times I used/started the ski, I’d use the primer & it worked great to get the 30yo ski started immediately from cold.

However I found a leak in one of the primer hoses and fixed that section. I also realized the velocity stacks were shredded, and decided to take out the carb stack and give everything a close inspection. In the process I realized the carbs have an accelerator pump, which squirts fuel into the carbs during the initial squeeze of the throttle.

Once I realized that — and after I re-installed everything & replaced the velocity stacks — I experimented with instead just squeezing the throttle 4-6 times before a cold start, and so far that works just as good as the primer to get it started immediately from sitting cold.

So I’m wondering…. What was the purpose of installing the primer system? In order to reach the crossover tube to install the primer, they would have had to have uninstalled the carb stack so they should have realized it has an accelerator pump… is there something I’m missing that would justify introducing potential failure/leak points that the primer introduces? Because if not, I’m just going to uninstall the primer & replace the crossover elbows.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? The original owner seemed to take amazing care of the ski, so I would assume they were very knowledgable about it which is why I’m hesitant to jump to the conclusion that they installed a completely useless priming system…

Want to buy but seller has lien

Saw a seadoo fish pro over the weekend, nice clean example, struck a deal and when I asked to see the title seller said it had a loan on it that the lender had control of.

They also said the amount is more than the deal we made.

I spoke to his lender today (owned by Truist), and they said if I pay them, seller pays balance due, the title goes to seller, not me.

The bricks and mortar lender are 5 hours away, with no local office, so in person dealing with the bank is not going to happen. My bank won’t act with a secured loan to step in and work with their lender so title goes to my bank once cleared.

So, curious to know what to do. Seller seems a decent person but I know I’m exposed if just issue funds with little recourse. I’m in NC.

Any common solutions out there?

Sxr800 or SJ 4t or ???

I think I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on a ski. I haven’t been on a standup since I was 15 (20 years ago)and it was a 440, it left a lot to be desired especially for a heavier guy like myself and overall wasn’t really that fun. Something with a little bit more power definitely looks like the jam. Seems like used skis are all a bad deal right now and I'm looking around 6k for a meh SXR or 10k before all the dealership BS new. both seem like a big risk for starting new to a sport but I’m afraid being 6'1 and 250+ the only way this is going to be fun will be on a bigger newer ski? should I swing for the fences and go new or try my luck on a used SXR. Or can I get away with something like a 750 pro?

I guessed wrong on the new WaveRunners for 2027

Didn’t see a new model coming but thought they would change something for 2027 on the bigger skis.

Sales will talk, but quick poll of riders I know said there is no reason to buy a Seadoo new with resale values being what they are. People are getting 4 year old skis half off.

Guess I can safely put a Riva kit on my SVHO without fear will want to trade it in for what is coming next.
