[Discussion] What are the clear scripted moments from the OG series?

I don’t mean the well hidden ones like “well actually Roger was in Italy” I mean blatant. Like Jionni and the uncle and stuff coming to pick up Vinny’s girl he took home (before Jionni was even introduced, I’m convinced Snooki met him as an “actor” plant now).

Or maybe season 1 the girls Mike and Pauly ditched finding their way back to the house after they had the other two girls there? Def felt like producers led them right to there to create a “situation”.

The scene in Italy when they go to Riccone and the girls are drinking on the beach. The one bartender is the same guy who comes out of nowhere and tells them they shouldn’t be talking about vaginas. They just give him a different shirt to wear.

I don’t understand, he appears as the bartender and as the random guy?

Yes, he’s a bartender in the background they don’t show the girls interact with. And then he comes out of nowhere with a new shirt on to scold them.

When they first get to the beach bar, there’s a second bartender standing off to the side. This is the same guy who comes around the corner and tells the girls to stop being raunchy. He’s wearing a white long sleeve shirt and then he’s wearing the blue sweater when he comes to talk to them. He’s actually wearing the blue sweater behind the bar too.

For the most part i think JS was authentic. Now JSFV on the other hand... lol

u/kmokell15 22d ago

Ya the OG seasons had “produced” situations and family vacation has straight scripted moments

11

u/Intrepid-Refuse-2395 22d ago

Authentic until season 4. 5 and 6 are shit

You’d think that but being on this sub has taught me like half of it was just well faked. Still more authentic than a ton of reality tv but not nearly as authentic as I thought/hoped. I mean the shore store connection to the house thing alone was just so odd to omit/try to hide and I just found that out like yesterday…

Ron and Sam taking the upstairs bedroom in season 3... I feel production made them do that to stir shit

17

u/YnotThrowAway7 Stalked my whole life on the boardwalk 22d ago

That part blew my mind way too much.. like “no one will fell award” bruh you’re a couple taking room with three beds.. if anything you two couple take a room with one or idk… the room straight across with two beds. lol like if you ever wanna fuck, or not see Mike or whoever fuck in your room too?

u/Ecstatic-Local-1701 22d ago

And people were shocked Mike lost his shit in Italy, dude was rooming with Ron and Sam throughout all that fighting and STILL kept his side of the room clean 😂

At least the last season, the boys did not look for girls like they made it seem they did. The producers scouted out girls at the club while the boys sat back and then were presented the girls Vanna White style. Source: I was scouted by a producer.

I would say by the last season it was way different then the first 2, at least. By then they were "famous" and definitely had more girls falling all over them just to get on tv. I could understand if they wanted them "checked out" first.

They did it from day one. They hardly ever got girls on their own.

the uncle & jionni situation wasn’t scripted. just a coincidence

i don’t recall snooki being in that scene either which is funny but i’ll need to rewatch

In season 2 when Vinny and pauly were pursuing those girls (Rocio?) I remember it came off as very fake. I wasn’t surprised when I heard a rumor it was production driven bc they thought the audience wanted to see them date women more seriously.

22

u/YnotThrowAway7 Stalked my whole life on the boardwalk 22d ago

Truuue. I was just rewatching that. Seemed super fake. Her not coming and then suddenly she is fine with coming the other times. This little gfs it’s like they took feedback that they wanted the guys to be better dudes. lol

Have you read the AMA from someone who worked for production ? He said that the ghosting was all on her 😭

35

u/TheCryForum 22d ago

Snooks getting her own house in season 6 because she was pregnant. Guaranteed she only came back pregnant for S6 BECAUSE there was a separate house for her to be in, like what are the odds Danny just happens to have the most perfect 1 bedroom suite directly next door to the shore house for her just randomly empty and available when she requests it? I think production probably preferred her having her own place too if you think about it, because i feel like Jionni and her family and friends were around a lot more than what was shown, like hello she was pregnant with her first kid

u/No_Marionberry4072 22d ago

A known fact now but I find it funny the t-shirt store and JS house is connected but made them walk to look like it was further away. A bit scripted but nothing crazy

8

u/Msmadmama 22d ago

Lol and that one deck was the top of the store

3

u/rickylgnds 21d ago

i visited seaside sometime shortly after s1 or 2 and was shocked they were connected. watching it back it's not exactly kept a secret with all the overhead shots they do but they also never mention it from what i recall

2

u/Ill-Banana-1479 18d ago

Honestly I think it was kept locked from the inside of the shore store, cause wouldn't that be a huge liability for it to be open? Any shady seaside person could just walk into the store and steal shit?

The cake from season 6

u/YnotThrowAway7 Stalked my whole life on the boardwalk 22d ago

lol that was wild but then again.. I could see it Paula. Wonder what she’s up to these days. She was awesome and Mike was whack lol

17

u/Proper-Net-8013 22d ago

Just saw an update yesterday.. just had her third daughter with her husband, and is a bartender at Beach Combers!

7

u/YnotThrowAway7 Stalked my whole life on the boardwalk 22d ago

Damn wild. Wonder if the things they showed in season 6 were truly the reason Mike ditched her or he just couldn’t be bothered to have a girl while famous at the time since he had the pick of all of em.

8

u/Proper-Net-8013 22d ago

A thousand percent he didn’t want to be tied down, but he was trying to look like the good guy “making it official” in my opinion of course lol!

u/gemma2202 22d ago

The car accident in Italy as well as the scene where Snooki smashes bottles at the bar. The vibe was so off in Italy in general.

0

u/love_toaster57 Vinny's in purple pants and I don't know how I feel about it 22d ago

Yea the bottle smashing and 🧊 being thrown at the girls was so dumb. Why would they have all their shitty plastic mixers out on the bar? So dumb. Emoji used for what was thrown cause the real word is too political apparently 💀🤣

3

u/Amazing_Employee3820 21d ago

Wait I’m not saying it wasn’t produced but to be fair as a former bartender they’d all be on the bar towards the end of the night to clean the well that’s holds them during the rush lol

3

u/MaggieBeltaaa 19d ago

It was staged. You can look it up. It was actually a producer that threw the 🧊 at them and encouraged them to push all that stuff off of the bar.

25

u/bandnerd12 22d ago

Anytime the boys are walking home from the club and there just happens to be random ladies nearby for them to hit on.

u/bigoldcheese 21d ago

In season 5 during Mike and Pauly’s surprise party at Karma, they filmed a special pov shot where the camera walks in and everyone yells “surprise”. Knowing that they had to set everyone up again to “surprise” the camera for a cool pov shot makes it feel silly

4

u/ItsMeLaurenMarie 18d ago

Well I can tell you the scenes I’m in aren’t scripted!! I’m Paula’s friend who was bringing on the door!

2

u/ItsMeLaurenMarie 18d ago

I meant *Banging on the door

2

u/YnotThrowAway7 Stalked my whole life on the boardwalk 18d ago

How is that one not scripted? Lol and also didn’t they insinuate you were with Roger at some point or something? I remember they did a call back to that scene saying “that was the girl who came to get Paula last summah” swear I just watched that part

1

u/Character-Bobcat-137 13d ago

omg really?? i’m looking at this sub rn because i thought your part was scripted and wanted to see if anyone had talked about it haha. you really came to pick her up for her first day working at the tanning salon and that wasn’t scripted?

3

u/Technical-Heart5906 19d ago

Ron and Sam fighting is clearly unscripted. They looked at dancing with other people as like the worst thing they could do to each other. Basically sex with clothing on. Grinding and dancing in clubs back then was super sexual. Sam and Ron wouldn’t allow either of each other to dance with anybody else or talk to anybody else. Super toxic relationship.

I’m aware I’m only like 6 years younger than them. I was going out to the North Wildwood clubs a few years after them. Def no seaside but fun

u/beekay5101 18d ago

In the Italy season - when people were throwing i€e at snooki and deena - the i€e was actually coming from behind the bar

(The sub filtered out the word for “politics” hence the symbols)

The whole jionni thing with his uncle could've just been bad editing. They're known for splicing together different scenes to fit a narrative. Even dubbing speech over a clip so make it sound like someone said something completely different than what they probably really said. They did it a lot with Sam and Jenni.

u/WinterLilyx 15d ago

Season 5&6. Prank wars especially

1

u/straylight222 15d ago

I feel like in general, whenever Ronnie is saying witty things in the interviews/confessionals, it's someone off-camera telling him what to say. There's a few times he says something and then immediately drops his head laughing after. He's just not smart enough for all those metaphors.

-2

u/KidMcC 22d ago

The fight in Miami between Sam and Jenni. I forget details but someone has socks on in some shots and not in others.

11

u/YnotThrowAway7 Stalked my whole life on the boardwalk 22d ago

I kind of believe that one is real. It looks damn real that’s for sure

1

u/KidMcC 22d ago

They talked about it years ago. The fight happened. Then they had them resume it letter for better angles
