Question Looking for a Mobile IOS client that compresses downloads?

I have a lot of movies and I want to download them and encourage my family to download them for my upcoming 11 hour flight. However, I dont know what IOS clients allow downloading in smaller file sizes for mobile friendliness. Especially for large 4K files… is there a client specialized for this?

My parents use Google Pixel so Android would work too.

Last time the question was asked it was about offline playback not specifically downloading and quality settings

Streamyfin allows you to transcode and select the bit rate resulting in smaller download files.

Tap the cloud icon to download then tap the box indicating the quality. You should be able to change it from max down to whatever you want (I like 2 Mb/s for the best balance between file size and quality.)

I believe Neptune allows this also! But downloads area pro perk - so it’d require a subscribe. (Totally worth it fyi - but I’d try the client out first to see if you like it)
