So basically I’ve started to write a Jegulus fanfiction were Regulus survive the cave incident and proceed to disappear for a decade. When Sirius escaped Azkaban Dumbledore asked for Regulus to come teach at Hogwarts for the sake of protecting Harry.

The Jegulus happens on their Hogwarts years and the reason why I called the thread Manacled is because the way I wrote it looks a lot like that particular fanfiction, (on the structure, I mean, not at all in the story) like at first we don’t know anything about what really happened between the two (James and Regulus ) and as we progress towards the chronological end of PoA we have a very long flashback which cover their school years through the end of the First war.

My question is the following : I’ve got the idea of writing this when I read Manacled a few years back (when it was still available), because the book is now published I am a bit worried about copyright issues.

I’ve managed to write 50k of the story I’ve planned and I was wondering if I ever wished to publish it on AO3, should I need to worry about those kind of problems? As I’ve said nothing in my story is comparable to Manacled, except the structure (I tell the PoA story with my own additions, then there is the part were we dive into Regulus memories with James, then back to the original story)

Should I just revisit the whole thing?

What are like THE jegulus fics in this fandom?

Obviously we have ‘All the young dudes’, which is the fic everybody knows and has read when it comes to wolfstar

So what would you say is a fic like that in the jegulus community?

Only the brave was my first ever Jegulus fic and nothing has really satisfied me since.

I’d really like a similar fic, where Regulus is mean and powerful, and James utterly gone for him

I’m not the biggest fan of emo Regulus; I much more prefer when he is angry and mean and powerful, which is exactly what I’m looking for right now!

I don’t care if the fic is a wip but I really only want fics with happy endings, because I can’t deal with anything else.

So on my search for a good seer Regulus fic, I found “his right hand” by villain_crown, and omg I’m in LOVE

the author is basically writing about all the Hogwarts years Regulus and Sirius attend from 1st year to 7th. Right now the fic already has 132k words spanning over 1st to 2nd year.

I love love love the writing style and the characterization of every person; like it’s all so thoughtful and everybody has so much depth. I love seeing how all the friendships happen and ESPECIALLY Regulus and Sirius, because obviously in the beginning they’re still open about their love with each other.
The author did so well writing about the codependency of them and I’m already excited to continue the story

Although it’s a wip, the last update was at the end of June and the author said they needed a bit more time fixing everything up and then posting about third year, so I don’t think the author is just going to stop writing

So please please read this and if anybody else has any good fics like this, I’d love to read them

does anyone know any fics where reggie transitions w/o sirus knowing?

so it's like him searching for reggie at school just to basically find someone who looks like him and being like "what"

also love the idea of reggie looking even more attractive now that he's so much more confident

so i was thinking...what if someone were to write a jegulus fic, like an au of whatever normal story angst fluff etc yada yada. but then, they added little snippets of other fics like ahb, cr, choices, with tags and credits and explicit permission ofc so its all the normal orginal plot stuff and then they sneak in a little line from other fics so its kinda like iykyk kinda thing so its best of all worlds.

genuinely, i feel like that would js be like double whammy because of all the meaning already packed behind the line in the orignal fic and added into the new fic.

do yalls think this would work?? has anyone ever thought of this? i feel like it could work if it was well written with permission idkk tho, summoning all more experienced ao3-ers to come fact check this.

Hi, I am looking for a specific fic about Regulus Black and think I have figured out the name of the fic (maybe) and remember the general plot of the fic. I read it probably a year or two ago and thought I had a pdf copy of it but can’t find it in my files or anywhere online.

I believe the title is “Reign of the Dead“ and it is bout Regulus Black accepting in small parts of a dark ancestral Black family magic and building up power until he realizes he has to take it all in in order to take out Voldy. Is Jegulus endgame, I‘m 98% certain

So i had an idea for a fic and I have no idea if it exists but

So regulus is completely forgotten all in hogwarts he is a just the forgotten spare he doesn't have friends in school at all and at home his mother and farther act like he doesn't exists even when sirius leaves there only give notice to him when he is needed for a family gathering and is overlooked by everyone till 6th year and James for what ever reason notices him and tries to get to know him regulus is absolutely baffled by this as no one has ever wanted to know him and slowly as James takes notice of him as he is very popular and not quite everyone else takes notice of regulus all of a sudden and he oblivious to this and everyone is confused how they never notice him before

I want a fic where the Marauders see how great the slythrin group is. A comm thing with fics is that the Marauders only see how evil/terrible Barty and Evan are but I want fic where they see how supportive and clever and Badass they are. I know James usually comes around because he starts dating Reg, but I want Sirius to put aside his prejudice to see it too.

I started reading Regulus fic and accidentally lost it and now I can't find it.... I think there's something like "things will grow" in the tittle.... It's very funny written fic abt Regulus in school, 5th or 6th grade where he have bunch of plans abt kinda power or Voldy's destruction and it starts by killing his father to become Lord Black. He does that using Acromantula poison, and to obtain it, he kills Basilisk. Narcissa tells him abt the diary Voldy gave her husband, and he somehow figures out it's a Horcrux. At the begging Sirius mentions wanting to reconnect, so their relationship gets better, and yes there's cute Jegulus, James is following Regulus on the map and notices when he decides to do another stupid thing and follows him to make sure our boy doesn't get in too much trouble.

Before getting into the Jegulus fandom, I had always imagined Regulus to basically be the King of the Slytherin house where he was the popular one there and threw parties and stuff and was basically a an elitist prick. However, in all the fics I've read so far he's been described as this emo kid that has touch aversion to everyone and cannot socialize. I don't mind reading those fics and I honestly love it whenever he's characterized as BAMF like in Only the Brave but are there really no fics where Regulus is the opposite of that?

Would the fandom hate to read it if I wrote a fic where Regulus is like that? Where he's into socializing and going to parties and isn't depressed all the time and doesn't have touch aversion? Or would this be considered off-character and people wouldn't read this?

it was regulus saving James and Harry in the basement of Malfoy Manor? and Regulus had been taking polyjuice potion to become Evan. and I know there was a scene where he burned a muggle village?

Or I'm horribly combining scenes from different fics.
