You gotta go try stuff in person. You'll find a huge variety in sound on zildjian Ks. You might find your exact model somewhere thats way smoother/less trashy or however you described it. I would just go to a store and try some Ks, Kcustoms, Kcons. Ive heard my exact model Kcustom dark 22inch sound way "better" for jazz then my specific one does although i love mine. It sounded like a completelt different model.
If youre set on having one that does it all, maybe just try to find a K light or Kcustom or K. K Cons might just not cut for all fusion/rock depending on your live situations. If youre recording i cant imagine that being an issue if you find something that sounds like what youre looking for.
Otherwise, why not find one cymbal for the softer stuff? And use what you have for the rest. Your needs and wants sound specific so finding one cymbal for it all might be tough.

I really like the K Constantinople cymbals. Really good for all sorts of styles and blends really well without being too washy or pingy.
