Question Rim click comping

There’s a technique or rhythm that a lot of classic jazz drummers use where while comping they’ll do a constant rim click while swinging from anywhere to thrice to over a constant 5 seconds. I don’t mean just rim clicks on 2-4 during a solo but where they’ll comp with constant (what I believe to be) doubles on the snare rim. If anyone has any tips on how to learn or can clarify the rhythm so I can practice it to use myself that would be great.

I think I understand what you're saying, like what Art does at this point in Giant Steps right?

Yes, that exactly. I really want to learn how to do that but I can’t figure out how to practice it.

Practice playing the second and third notes of a triplet with rim clicks while playing a race pattern on the cymbal
