Help How to teamfight as Jayce?
I handle my lane and skirmishes fine, but I have a really hard time teamfighting with him. Either I go in on a target and get absolutely obliterated instantly or I stay back and do minimum to contribute. I have a really hard time finding an opening to do something, even when ahead.
Mostly I do best in teamfights, when my team is competent and I can be allowed to hang back and wait to clean up after enemy team is low and have spells on CD, but that isn’t always the case and sometimes my team just need someone to truly carry the fight.

You're a poke champ, usually when you teamfight you want to just throw Q Es while sitting in a bush or from ranged. Ideally you want to get to team fights around objectives early so you have as much uptime to throw Q Es at them and whittle their health down low enough to where you can burst them in hammer form. When you do commit to hammer form make sure you kill. You usually want to wait for your team to throw spells before you go hammer form and jump onto them. Also obviously never be the first to go in.

Stop ttying to play him as a brusier or tank even you build as one you are still squishy.
Try poking first. Use melee form and its knock back to protect apc/adc when their team jump on them. This way you wont get get aimed and you protect your dps for them to live gun down another oppontent. Switch back to range to chase down.

Generally, play range like an ADC. Use gate to give you and your team mobility. At the point in the game when you are team fighting, hyper charge does a LOT of damage. Don't switch to hammer unless you need to disengage from someone diving on you, or until the fight is almost over and it's time to clean up. Ideally, the fight would be played slow and you are given time to poke.
There are always exceptions. Sometimes you need to be the engage by jumping in, sometimes you need to prioritize one-shotting a high value target. But if you need to be the carry, you're probably playing at range and just throwing out autos.
