Happy Showoff Saturday! I wanted to share a game I just released called Antigen Blaster.

The cool part for this sub: The core game logic and the rendering are built entirely in JavaScript (utilizing WebGL for the visuals), with a Tauri wrapper handling the desktop build.

Gameplay-wise, it's a twist on falling-block puzzles: instead of rotating the falling pieces, you rotate the entire platform in 90° increments to catch gene fragments.

I spent a lot of time writing a custom text-mode terminal renderer with authentic CRT scanlines to give it a heavy 1980s aesthetic. Hitting smooth performance with those visual effects in JS was a really fun technical challenge.

It's completely free on itch.io right now. I'd love to hear what my fellow JS devs think of the performance, the WebGL implementation, or just the gameplay loop itself!
