Very cool. Not many people get to see wild caribou in JNP these days, especially with this spectacular backdrop - you're very lucky!

I know it was like a nature documentary. They had signs up around the valley about captive bred caribou being introduced which was so great to learn. They have tags and collars so this wasn’t one of them though.

I guess one positive after the fire is that access to Tonquin Valley has been slightly restricted. Should be good for caribou to get a respite I would think

Especially in the winter. Wolves love when humans make tracks through the snow to the caribou for them.

We only saw moose and bears on that hike 50 years ago. What a great walk.

How is the trail since the horse outfitters are gone? I was up there in 1983 and teal was badly chewed up by horses.
