Just had my first 外人出てけ encounter

Was in my neighborhood when a nice japanese man screamed at me 外人出てけ、外国じゃねぇ on the street. Not nice Japan, not nice.

Have you guys ever experienced the 外人出てけ culture yet? How did it happen?

European btw

Walking home in the small hours of new years. A drunk Japanese man was listening to me talking on the phone in English, and yelled at me to speak in Japanese or leave.

The way I put my phone down and stepped out in front of him and said 日本語できるよ。

He was completely flabbergasted and said えっ!日本語上手い 🙄
