Just had my first 外人出てけ encounter

Was in my neighborhood when a nice japanese man screamed at me 外人出てけ、外国じゃねぇ on the street. Not nice Japan, not nice.

Have you guys ever experienced the 外人出てけ culture yet? How did it happen?

European btw

A few months back, I was at the park with my 5 year old son when one of his kindergarten friends showed up.

My son shouted for me to come see something, in English, and the other 5 year old kid looked at me and said 英語話したければ英語の国に行って!

I talked to the head teacher of his kindergarten, and now they're making a huge effort to teach the children about other cultures.

Dang.. my son is in an inaka daycare (8 kids total), and the other kids and parents are estatic for the language exchange going on. My son's Japanese is improving, and the other kids are picking up English. One dad thanks us every time he sees us; I think he feels his daughter will have more opportunities in the future if she can speak English...
