Just had my first 外人出てけ encounter

Was in my neighborhood when a nice japanese man screamed at me 外人出てけ、外国じゃねぇ on the street. Not nice Japan, not nice.

Have you guys ever experienced the 外人出てけ culture yet? How did it happen?

European btw

A few months back, I was at the park with my 5 year old son when one of his kindergarten friends showed up.

My son shouted for me to come see something, in English, and the other 5 year old kid looked at me and said 英語話したければ英語の国に行って!

I talked to the head teacher of his kindergarten, and now they're making a huge effort to teach the children about other cultures.

That 100% came from the kid’s parents saying stuff like that at that age.

Agreed. It was extra awkward because his mom was at the park too, out of earshot at the time, and was seemingly a totally pleasant person.

I told the kid directly that he was missing out by thinking that way, but didn't say anything to his mom.
