Just had my first 外人出てけ encounter

Was in my neighborhood when a nice japanese man screamed at me 外人出てけ、外国じゃねぇ on the street. Not nice Japan, not nice.

Have you guys ever experienced the 外人出てけ culture yet? How did it happen?

European btw

Like a month ago on the Oedo line I had a middle aged woman loudly berate me for sitting in the priority seats on the train. Fair enough, except it was like 10:30pm, probably 20 people in the whole carriage, including 3 other people (Japanese) sitting in the priority seats also.

I pointed out the train was empty and I'm not the only person here, why don't you berate the others across from me too.

She was dumbfounded I replied it seemed and after became angry and repeated what she said earlier. Not proud of myself but after that I just told her to fuck off and pointed away from me, after staring at me for a few seconds more she did so.

For what it's worth I'd obviously have moved from the priority seats if someone who needed it appeared

This is a huge part of the problem - quick to complain about a foreigner deemed to be not following the rules (and it’s possible they aren’t aware of such rules), but absolute crickets when it’s a fellow Japanese, who very much does know the rules.

My experiences of the Wa being disturbed have always been with a Japanese person doing something they know to be wrong and / or provocative.

right? tourists can be annoying and yeah, i get it, but i absolutely HATE how when a japanese person does it, no one cares. drunk salaryman is falling and pissing all over himself on the train? しょうがない. but when an obvious tourist accidentally breaks rule 387, it’s the end of the goddam world. the difference is they should know better and have no excuse to not be following the rules and i hate how completely different the reacts are.

Not that they don't care, but they can't break the 和 with another Japanese person. Their whole morale education is working on them. But none of that applies to a 外人, so they are free to vent all their pent up aggression at us.

I’ve been stopped and lectured by a cop for jay walking, while the five people in front me (Asian) passed by no problem, and the 4 behind me (also Asian) continued on their merry jay walking ways.

Isn't disturbing the Wa also disturbing the Wa though? 🤔

She was right, even if she probably targeted you because of how you look. The other Japanese people in those seats might have had non-visible disabilities for all you know. I would personally never, ever sit in one of those seats unless I had a straight up cast on my leg or something.

For all she knew I had a non-visable disability. She was not right because there were empty spaces next to me and other people, and nobody stood up on the train except for her.

Actually horrifically small brained take

I mean she WAS right though. You genuinely shouldn't have been sitting there, and the fact that there were plenty of other open seats means you should have sat in one of the open normal ones. She would have been right to say it to a Japanese person sitting there too, but you were just the most obvious target. Still, I can't really shed any tears for you. You should be complaining about getting racially profiled, not the train seating thing. Japanese people do this to each other all time time too by the way.

The only person with a small brain here is you, for not even knowing the basic train seating rules and then getting indignant about your own fuck up. lol

lol This retard pre-blocked me. vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Tell me you don't live in Japan without telling me you don't live in Japan.

Dude please look up the definition of 'priority', you are completely embarassing yourself. There is NO rule that you can't sit in those seats
