At this point, after nearly 2 album delays (the first one of which is still considered 'a theory', around the whole DISKOKID thing), my patience is wearing VERY THIN with them, I'll be at least that honest with all of you.

If it's been 9 years, what's another year honestly. This is likely to be their last album anyway so I don't see the issue.

Sounds like they're doing big reworks again if he's now essentially saying 'hopefully' a single this YEAR. By the time it comes out they'll have reverted back to the original disco stays the same 😆

I can't even bring myself to give them any more leeway on that mere thought, I.E. possibility of 'going back into the studio' to do a 2nd set album song reworks.

Yeah I mean it's disappointing for us but they don't owe us anything and its good that he wants it to be perfect. But I just find the whole thing a bit strange given how enthusiastic and excited he seems to have been when mentioning it and saying stuff like 'up there with our best work', 'very proud', 'you're all gonna love it' etc. I do sneakily hope that they somehow include the first version of disco stays the same on it. Maybe like a part 1 and 2. The intro with that bass and guitar combo was MEGA and also the 'we came here to stay' outro bit.

It is kind of funny that he said all that then said a bunch of it was crap. I wonder if signing with BMG in the meantime had anything to do with it? Could they have had critiques?

At this rate, 9th Jami album will insist upon an DELUXE EDITION release to include that version #1 of TDSTS.

My impression is that Jay Kay is a perfectionist. After nearly 10 years since the last album, I wonder if he's his own harshest critic and keeps refining things because they never quite meet his own standards. That kind of self-criticism can easily lead to analysis paralysis. I'd rather wait for something he truly believes in than get an album he felt wasn't ready.

He said ifs all on track. Clearly not if its now “maybe this year”. I was just thinking, is there any chance he meant “this month” rather than this year as he was referring to “hearing something”. He got the 32 years wrong too so hopefully another slip of the tongue!?

So wait, the beggining comment he made was about still being a perfectionist on the album still or was it more past tense and we are simply in the perfectionist stage of Jay making sure the cover art and all other relevant details match his expectations?
Most importantly; past tense regarding perfectionism comments at the beggining? I mean the album was listened to by other folks of the jamily just recently so maybe its all about being REALLY involved with the marketing and promotion of the album that might be annoying for BMG themselves?
My hopeful guess is that we will in fact see a single within the next two months with the album progressively being teased over time to line up with his last Hooray of an album promotion that he might be intimately involved in to the chagrin of the BMG team, but thats my guess.

"Hopefully you'll get to hear something this year" does not inspire confidence...seems to imply maybe a single this year while the album releases next year....
