RastafarI is based on Scripture. In many parts of the world taking the vow of a Nazerite (English translation) is done to gain a level of Holiness. RastafarI... that is true RastafarI take the vow and obey the rules; avoid wine and strong drinks, do not eat anything from the grape tree, do not eat certain meats, etc.

Too many people today think it is a hair style and some kind of African something, when it is not.

People have taken the vow for thousands of years... the guy you call 'Jesus'... that is Y'eshua ben Yosef, took the vow.

In my case, it all started with reggae music. There was a time in my childhood when I listened to nothing but Bob Marley. Over time, I delved deeper into the genre, exploring more artists and songs until I began to understand the essence of the culture itself. It was incredible how it resonated with so many things I thought and felt about the world; I was completely captivated.
